On the plus side Rocky Fielding wasnt really one of the undercard fights I was looking forward to and Stephen Smith has a somewhat decent fight.

Somewhat decent? 138 in the world, blown up super bantamweight who was stopped in an Argentinian title fight just over 18 months ago and has won three times since, against fighters with a combined record of 25-35-4, before a resounding defeat in his last fight.

Right. Decent as its for a purpose rather than just a workout.

and Hearn is still lauded by many, if this was FW people would be baying for blood, Hearn said this would only be PPV with a quality undercard or words to that effect, yet muppets are still paying for it

Where's the purpose though? He won't learn anything from the fight and there's no intercontinental titles on the line so it will do little ranking wise, it's just a keep busy fight, he would have been better off fighting Sykes, then leaving.

It's for the WBC international title even tho it isn't listed as being so just yet and the winner faces the WBC Silver champ. So actually it does a hell of a lot for his ranking.....

I don't think anyone is lauding him at all, in fact I'd say there are more unhappy people than there are happy on here.

Now that Lennox Allen has pulled out of his fight with Fielding, this undercard is truely atrocious for PPV. Not all of it is Eddie's fault though, the pull outs I mean. He should of had more competitive fights on the card for this kind of thing though.

I think the Quigg fight is the one that has killed it. I mean people could slate the Salinas fight because of how low Salinas is ranked on boxrec but I actually think he is a decent enough opponent and I'd have liked to see a rematch here. Not sure whether or not Salinas would have accepted one so soon tho. So if it had been Froch v Groves, Quigg v Salinas and then initially Crolla v Gethin with Joshua and co in their learning fights beneath that I'd hold my hands up and say fair enough. As it is Quigg's in a complete gimme and all the other undercard fights (pretty much) have been hit with injuries.

That's the thing though mate. Smith is in with a guy who is pretty crap in all honesty *just looked up his record and who he's lost against*, the murray fight is a waste of time and so on. I agree that the Salina's rematch would of been good. Im not sure that Eddie and Scott would of fancied his chances in a rematch though.

I agree with your first point but then if the WBC have accepted that or said that is who you fight for the International title then you have to take it. And obviously it's a fight that leads on to a better one.

On your last point tho I disagree I think they would fancy Quigg's chances in a rematch. I personally had Quigg edging the first fight and think Eddie and Scott had it about the same. And I think they went into that fight wary of Salinas's power early, in a second fight they would know they could turn the afterburners on a round or two earlier.

It's a tougher fight with more risk though huh. Even if they think Scott would win, why fight a guy Salinas when you could fight someone who's worse! Haha

Absolutely that is the route they have decided to take for this fight. Like I said earlier tho I think had they not (we're assuming Salinas would have accepted for the sake of this scenario) then the bill would have probably been just about acceptable even with the pull outs in the other fights.

I'm a big critic of Hearn's as you know very well but I would of been a lot happier with the card with that fight on it I have to admit. As it stands there's nothing intriguing/interesting on it aside from Froch-Groves.

Now that Crolla v Gethin has fallen through I agree. I think even tho Foster has been in training for another fight he won't have been training specifically for Crolla for long enough.

The card looks terrible, so bad that the fights on BN might hold slightly better value, meaning switching between the two until Froch-Groves, which when I've paid £15 to be changing channels is very poor indeed...
