I knew he was pretty woeful when i first heard about the fight but looking more at his record he's even worse than I thought! I could see how the WBO might let him challenge for their title given he's coughed up as few sanctioning fees for them. Surely he hasn't 'earned' the right to challenge for the WBA....more WBA Fedelatin Title defences needed!

Last time he stepped up he was beat in 3 rounds doubt he'll go that long against Quigg then you'll get the darts fans saying Quigg is the best SBW in the world

I'v always had a theory that you can tell if a fight is going to be competitive based on what the fighters are saying beforehand. If a boxer is praising the opponent it usually means the opponent is naff. If the opponent is slating the opponent it usually means it is a good fight. Calzaghe and Hopkins were laying into each other before their fight but lines like 'yeah this is a tough fight, he is coming to win....' always get used when the opponent is sub standard.

Well he is going to isnt he? God knows I wouldn't say an opponent will be easy, just putting unnecessary pressure on himself. I'm sure privately he knows the score though.

Awful opponent, but I'm comfortable it's an exception

People seem to be saying that they think Foster jnr will be a tougher fight than Gethin would of been. Do you buy that? I'l be honest, I havent followed Foster's career that closely or know his style that well but I had a quick look at his record and I struggle to see how this is a tough fight for Crolla.

I hope so or are disagreements are gonna get worse ...... no that is true, you're not going to say he's rubbish but he could say something along the lines of he's not one of the best in the division but it's good learning fight to prepare me for the harder fights down the line. Some crap like that lol.

This standard of opponent isn't a one off. Scott has been fighting guys like this his whole career.

Laughable - I suppose Hearn told Adam Smith that Scott deserves a soft first defence....which isn't half bad for a fighter who has somehow ended up with a "world title", without actually facing any world champions.

This is a WBU level title fight.

I agree.

Quigg is in the uncomfortable position of being given the world title and his first defence was a draw.

They just want to give him a win in front of his home crowd so at least he feels as though he has "won" the title - still can't believe this is describing the WBC and not the WBU though ......

Even then, it's not a proper world title as Rigondeaux is the true WBA world champion.

The BEST price you can get for quigg is 1/11 with most bookies having him 1/16 says it all!

Quite a contrast between Scott's phony world title fight and the main event.

Even though Carl isn't the REAL world champ at super middle - he comes damn close, and is a fearsome champion for Groves to be taking on for his first big fight - shows real balls for George to be taking him on ( and not going the easy route )
