I noticed that last week watching PF. Excited as hell announcing Sprotts QF victory, extremely subdued announcing Mintos.

I don't even find it funny anymore, just irritates the life out of me. He may be a nice bloke but he's f**king useless as an MC. Surely if your job is to read people's names out you would go to the trouble of finding out how to pronounce them!?! It's lazy and disrespectful

I'm not sure why he needs to do the growling, although I do prefer him to Mark Burdis but that's not saying much

It's not just the tone, it's the way he reads it out as well. I can't remember exactly how, but I recall him fornicating up the Crolla-Rees scores. They were 116-113, 115-113, 115-115, but he gave them in an order you knew Crolla had won so it wasn't exciting. I will see if I can find it on Youtube. He has done this a few times.

He is OK for darts when it is not as serious, and the vast majority of it's recent success is based on the whole production, but crap at the boxing.

The thing that bugs me is that I'd imagine he's being paid rather handsomely for this and it's not exactly rocket science! Everyone makes mistakes but he seems to get it wrong more than he gets it right!

Don't know anything about him personally but I'm not a fan of him as an MC. I can't stand the modern trend for growling, presumably to add excitement and significance, especially in commentating. I wish he'd just announce the names, rather than twisting them into 3+ syllables that end up sounding nothing like what they're actually called.
