Groves is better than Froch. That has now been established

Groves was miles better than him, was covering up and should not have been stopped. The ref = a stupid, stupid man!

Worst that I can remember this year.knurak wrote:The worst stoppage of the year, I think.

Thanks to crappy officiating we will never know.rapid2 wrote:Not sure about that. Froch was going to stop him.
Totally agree, was very premature! BUT believe that Froch WAS gonna stop him anyway.Freedom wrote:Thanks to crappy officiating we will never know.rapid2 wrote:Not sure about that. Froch was going to stop him.
How did they have it? I thought Froch won only 2 rounds.mcbrando wrote:Totally agree, was very premature! BUT believe that Froch WAS gonna stop him anyway.Freedom wrote:Thanks to crappy officiating we will never know.rapid2 wrote:Not sure about that. Froch was going to stop him.
However Groves was absolutely awesome, and the shots Froch took would of stopped pretty much every other super middleweight on the planet.
Again was very UN-impressed by the commentary! very biased towards Groves, although he was definetely on top before the stoppage, it was closer than they had it.
Pretty poor show by the fans in booing Froch, he didnt deserve that. Understand their dissapointment at the stoppage and their appreciation of Groves though.
I suppose we can look forward to the rematch if Froch doesnt call it a day
Summed it up perfectly.Finn wrote:Bad stoppage but i think froch was getting on top of him and would have got the stoppage it was truning into froch's fight and the way he likes to fight once groves slowed down. But huge respect to groves my jaw nearly hit the flaw in the 1st round he is clearly world class im just wondering if that style would be better against ward than froch? Froch gets stronger as he goes he likes a war no one has got in the ring and managed to out pox ward.
I wouldnt rule out that groves could have come back but i think froch was starting to jump on him and i think froch would have stopped him there or on the next assault. What groves said in the post fight interview was right - froch got the benifit of the doubt when he was hurt because hes a warrior, groves is seen as chinny so was pulled out early.
Stoppages like that arent fair on anyone because froch would have got a lot of respect for that comeback if it was a fair stoppage and also groves maybe could have come back.
My only comment in defense of foster is at the point he put his arms round groves, groves dropped his hands round his knees for a couple of seconds maybe he saw something we didnt.

We know Froch gets stronger as it goes on. But Groves may have even more gears to go through and should have been given the chance to prove that right or not. I still think Froch looked vulnerable during the 9th. I thought he was vulnerable from start to finish - this shocked me more than anything, including the stoppage.keithmoonhangover wrote:Summed it up perfectly.Finn wrote:Bad stoppage but i think froch was getting on top of him and would have got the stoppage it was truning into froch's fight and the way he likes to fight once groves slowed down.
