I dont think the facebook post is anything to be honest but something is def up in boxing. so corrupt its unreal! George groves wasnt gonna win that fight even if it went the distance and they made sure of that! I laugh when eddie hearn had it by 2 rounds as in no way does that reflect that fight. that was a schooling. Groves really was stupid getting involved in it all though as he could have outboxed him for rest of fight but he must have knew he wasnt gonna get a points win:)

As much as I detest the stoppage, I wouldn't read too much into that post.
The other person was being friendly with him and he may have liked it just to show his appreciation. I think he's stopped fights too early in the past, so I believe the early stoppage just reflected a tendency to call things off quickly.

To be honest that's what the impression from it was. It just seemed like friendly touch. I just posted it as it's floating about all over twitter apparantly.

I cringed when i saw Foster was the ref, simply because he stops fights too soon and this was no exception.

Every other day someone is calling for a ref's head.
Either the majority of refs are useless or..could it be because the job of a pro ref is way harder when in the ring than it looks outside?
How else do you explain the same "crap refs" comments which persist for decades. Is it not more likely its much harder than it looks and that they're humans not robots.
There's a huge difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

I agree being a ref is harder than people think and that they often come in for unfair criticism.
But in answer to the bolded part I think it's because most complaints are about refs favouring the home fighter rather than strictly incompetence. And I do think that is an issue particularly in UK/Europe. It's a lot rarer to see uproar about a home fighter being stopped too early.

Although this stoppage was premature, Groves may come back even better. It is not the first early one I have seen.
The Board does get rid of crap refs?

X2 Well said Jon, no matter if anyone thinks it was stopped early, Howard made an honest decision!

I didn't know the standing 8 existed unless you jumped up from a knockdown. It says if the ropes hold you up or stop you falling so if foster thought this was the case why did he play froch the advantage?

Anyone who thinks Foster is dodgy needs to get their heads sorted. I like everyone else thinks he stopped the fight too soon, but he was only doing what he thought was the right thing to do at the end of the day he is the sole person in there with the fighters health in their mind. Bad judgement nothing else, he is only human FFS.

He's dodgy?
Enlighten me, out of the near NINE hundred fights in the last six years where Foster has been the sole referee, including British, Euro & World title fights, how many of those hundreds of fights was he shown to be "dodgy".

On the night of the Froch groves fight I thought it was stopped early on watchin it again over twice the decision was the right one either that round or the next he was out of there and groves only was jumpin about as he realised it hAd been stopped but groves in my eye in the next world champ

I think Howard Foster is a top man and a top referee. I honestly think the sh*t and abuse he is taking is disgusting.
Bang out of order.
Have people never made a mistake in their lives?
