DO YOU THINK JULES IS GOING TO COME TO FIGHT?

question: how many times in recent years have you swore up & down that ole jules was on his last chance and he was definitely going to come to fight hard & bring all kinds of hell this time?

i thought the second danny williams fight, the matt skelton fight, the sinan samil sam fight, surely the rematch with steffen nielsen.

these were some of the most pathetic and dissapointing performances ever and i just wonder what exactly is different about this fight thats gonna make jules do anything other than quit inside 2 rds and take his money & run?

hes already a late sub, so he has his excuse already. great!

Francis will be there to survive and take the money.

It's up to Harrison to KO him early or we may be in for a dull long fight.

I've a feeling he might fancy the job.

But then I felt that prior to the Skelton fight.

If he could give it a decent go, I would not expect Audley to win inside the distance.

Be of vague interest to see if this is the first Brit he kayos.

Francis will talk a good fight as ever, but he'll only have on aim, and that will be to hear the bell ending the 12th round. His best chance is to hang in there, and hope Audley gets tired as he enters the unknown territory of the final rounds.

Be a good work out for Audley, but one sided.

only change is the first 2 rounds, he wont make a impact after that, too old

Francis knows how to survive and has been eight rounds or more 19 times in his career. He'll fiddle his way through the rounds as he did against Skelton and probably go the full 12.
A stoppage win by Audley would be a good result.

Francis is a hard man to KO in the true sense of the word. I remember someone posted saying how he's only been stopped when he's been hit to the body(due to a knife attack in his youth), so the only outcomes i can se are a corner retirement or a points win for Harrison.

Yes, I felt Skelton (a good body puncher) may expose him there, but he got nowhere. Sinan Samil Sam stopped him with body shots but Francis claimed he injured his ribs in a car crash two weeks before the fight. Francis will want to take Audley past eight rounds for the first time in the champion's career.

I would actually be dissapointed if Harrison cannot stop Francis at this stage. While Skelton deserves to be ranked above Harrison and has more raw power than the gold medal, in terms of boxing ability, these two 30 something prospects are on a different level.

Skelton has has 13 boxing contest in his life, forget the K1. Harrison must have had approaching 100 amateur contest and had more 15 pro fights. He's not a lunging, head hunting, novice that Skelton is.

Francis is weak to the body these days, I can't remember Skelton looking for body shots at all. Skelton cannot box, plain and simple - seeing Francis' shape in that fight I don't even think the old Francis yardstick thing can apply.

Harrison KO 8 in a one sided contest.

But with the added bonus of getting one over FW premier heavyweight, I feel Audley will be pressing even harder to get the KO

Audley delivered some telling body shots to Hersisia if I remember correctly so perhaps Audley can exploit this weakness in Francis.

However I would like Audley to be taken at least five rounds even it depends on Audley holding back a bit.

the knockout losses to vitali klitschko & tyson were pure head shots...

by the way people-- world class heavies knock jules out.

if audley fails to do what a shot oleg maskaev did not long ago then there is very little hope for audley at world level.

I think audley will pass the test. He will show the gulf in class between himself and 'the bumbling oaf' Skelton. I can't see jules living with audley's combinations, especially at his advanced fossilised age.

Julius will scowl a plenty, and give us some hope that he may be up for it, but my guess is: After a couple of rounds of probing from Audley, he will then open up, and administer a comprehensive beating on Julius.

If he doesn't then I wont be impressed.

You are right, if nothing else this'll be a chance for Audley Harrison to stick it allegedly.

Download the highlights of Maskaev - Francis here(last minute of 1st round + 2nd round)

Oleg Maskaev - Julius Francis

right click on fighters names...save as

It's an MPEG1 so no codecs needed.

Although Maskaev knocks out Julius with a solid right hand, that body shot before the first knockdown did the most damage in my opinion

I agree Aud should do the business and wear his man down in the middle rounds. That will also send a message out to possible future foe Skelton, Aud will be pumped for this one and do the biznezz!

Mostly the latter. However it's really not that hard to get them to work. 3 additional mouse clicks really

julius always been dodgy around the body.....however he was always in control of his senses in that fight......

I think the body shot did hurt him though, the clubbing head shot afterwards didn't look that great.

Julius looked like he wanted out of the fight, and he was woefully out of shape.

We all know Audley is a guy with a great variety of punches to the head and body. I see Audley doing a similar thing to what he did with Hersisia, going in nice and cautious staying behind the jab and then unleashing a nice combination at some point between rounds 3 and 6, that put Julius on his backside for the 10count.

Call me irresponsible, but I actually think this fight is going to be a good measuring stick, we've all seen old Jules against the great, the good and the not so good, and he's reliable in that he always tries to survive.

If Audley manages to put him away in some style, then you have to give him some props. If however he labours to a boring decision, questions will be asked about his power and his technical ability.
