How would it go? I honestly think it would be the first time Froch gets knocked out. That's if Groves doesnt do it if they have the rematch.

When though? Its easy to say that now.

They were potential opponents before the Kessler rematch so its likely we are talking about a better version of what faced Groves. I bet you wouldn't be so quick to choose Stevenson back then! He had just destroyed Bute and Mack. Stevenson didnt have the big win over Chad etc

To be fair mate, Stevenson was mandatory for Froch's IBF title back then but they got out of it when Froch fought Kessler in the rematch.

Well no because the IBF have a clause that allows for the delay of mandatories if the fight being taken is a unification fight. Kessler was a unification fight and Stevenson clearly did not want to wait.

On the fight. Froch gets stopped, he was made look awful by Groves. Who has very good power but Stevenson has serious power and will finish Froch

Well my point still stands. They did get out of it. Im not saying they ducked him but the fight didnt happen for the reasons you mentioned.

Surprised so many think Stevenson would've KO'd Froch back when he was at 168, I doubt he will KO him if they fight next year at 175....

My point was, Stevenson, if he had stayed at 168, would not have blown away Dawson and Cloud, so his reputation wouldn't be boosted like it currently is. So its highly unlikely anyone would be going with Stevenson to beat Froch ( assuming he got to Carl before Groves because he was mandatory )

Seeing as its quite likely that Froch left a fair amount in the ring with Kessler that night, then Stevenson could well have been the one to beat Carl had he stayed around at 168 and waited his turn.

I think Froch would struggle in the early rounds but he would start landing cleanly earlier than he did against Groves. Stevenson is slick but he is far from unhittable. He wouldn't like the pace Froch fights at and would be struggling late in the fight. Either way, assuming his chin is as good as it was going into the Groves fight, I cant see Stevenson knocking him out. Kovalev is the only guy that I think might be able to stop Froch and that would be via multiple KD's early in the fight.

I just think that Stevenson hits a fair bit harder than Groves who absolutely flattened Carl in the first round. On top of that, every tough fight that Carl is having I think his punch resistance is dropping a little by little. Even in the last Kessler fight he got pretty badly hurt in the 11th. Getting tagged consistently like that wears you down. I used to think Margarito would never get knocked out and then Mosley absolutely destroyed him.

Froch was very careless in that first round, I've never seen him so lackadaisical before. I don't think he would be so open as to be caught like that against someone like Stevenson. Froch is still the more proven guy here and my feeling is Stevenson isn't cut out for a war (we haven't seen him come through one). We saw a glimpse of his frailty vs Boone and you're not going to stop Froch without being in a dogfight first. Stevenson could drop Froch but keeping him down is a different matter. Whatever happens I can't see Adonis coming through the hell he would need to to come out on top.

Froch was hardly caught by a lucky punch in a slack moment. Groves was hitting and hurting him all fight, nearly had him down again in the 6th. After that I can't see Froch stepping up to LHW and beating Stevenson, been in too many wars.

Your making out Froch is chinny? He was put down by a massive shot when he was square on with his feet in the wrong position. It was a good shot no doubt but he was hit harder in the 6th round and didn't budge. His chin is fine

I want to see this fight more than a Groves rematch.

I think its a great fight all round it just makes sense.

You have Froch wanting Ward, you have Stevenson nearly busting down the door to get Ward (both Stevenson and Ward destroying Dawson in their different way). You have the fact Eddie Hearn has been able to get one of his fighters a fight with Stevenson.... Carl after revenge for one of his stable mates.

You have the Carl "The Canadian Basher" Froch so another angle, you could have Stevenson claiming Froch ducked him (didn't Stevenson nearly scupper Froch vs Kessler 2?).

Can Froch withstand the Stevenson punch? Is Stevenson as chinny as people made out? Can Stevenson make Super Middle now?

Have this fight and Groves on the undercard.... although the winner should face Ward.

Stevenson by KO as of now. Froch is deteriorating now. Two tough wars in Kessler/Groves, I think its took something out of him. Froch was badly hurt in both Kessler/Groves fights, I think this time his chin gives in. Stevenson hits hard, and he will find the target easily.

Stevenson in the 7th in a bit of a tear up.

No surprise that the warrior chose a lucrative re-match against a shop worn Kessler in favour of Stevenson, I though Stevenson was a beast the first time I saw him years ago and I knew at the time that Froch wanted no part of him. Got to hand it to Eddie Hearn, he knew what was good for them both.
