Unbelievably, he was never actually given his WBO belt and 18 years on is still yet to receive it.
Paul got into hot water for pulling out of the Bronko McKart first defence at very short notice and all because of money.
He signed a three fight option with Bob Arum to get the fight for the title against Verno Phillips.
Barry Hearn was his Manager at the time and all sorts of allegations and counter allegations were made.
The WBO were furious.
Not saying its right but the WBO probably gave him the rods.
