What a joke the WBA is. Basically Martin will have a mickey mouse belt then. The same one Quigg holds.

I'm a bit confused.

So Chudinov Vs. Novoa is for the interim WBA title.

Murray Vs. whoever is for the full WBA title whilst Golovkin is promoted to WBA Super champ?

When the WBA first announced the Super title they seemed to be suggesting it would only be given to people who unified the WBA title with one of the other 3 'major' belts. Now they just seem to hand the fornicator out willy nilly if there isn't a super champion knocking about.

It's getting very silly with the WBA. Doesn't Carl Froch and Andre Ward both hold the WBA Super World Super Middleweight titles? I'm pretty sure recently in one of the lower weight divisions the WBA had 2 interim champions, a regular champion and a super champion. 4 separate fighters with a claim to being world champion in the same division. Total joke.

Ah yes. I should explain to the un-initiated that expe doesn't consider anything other than the Super-title (assuming one is in existence at the weight class) to be a World title.

He doesn't mention this often. Only about 600 times on a 4 hourly cycle.

Think a lot of people think that. I like Quigg but what he holds is nothing more than a glorified interim title. If he wants to be one of the true champs he has to go through Rigo. When people talk about who is champ at different weight classes they don't say 6-7 names. They say 4 (unless its been unified). If there is a super champ who hold a belt then the regular title really doesn't mean much, more true fans wont class it as a legitimate world champ. In Quigg case the fight would be very easy to make as Rigo struggles to find a fight at the best times and would definitely travel like he did against casey.

It could be very quickly eradicated if people in boxing wanted it to be. Clearly, I'm assuming for short-term financial gain, this currently isn't the case.

And i am of the same opinion as expe...for instance.. Scott Quigg isnt World Champion in my eyes... i know that is not worth jack shit just my opinion on it all...1 champion... with each Org..do away with this Super Champion/Regular champion nonsense... i know its all £$£$£$, but it annoys the fornicate outta me as a boxing fan..Rant over

They should split them futher I think, have a small, medium and large for each version, which would then give us 9 world champions - leaving one contender in the top ten, with 9 champions. This contender could be then be called a "super" contender, and receive a world title shot every 2 or 3 months.

Quigg said he wouldn't consider himself champion until he won it in the ring after being upgraded prior to Salinas fight.. it was a majority draw, but Quigg himself said after he thought he won the fight v Salinas and therefore he considers himself world champion

Not that it makes much difference, but I think the WBA now have 'Unified' and 'Super' champions (e.g. Froch and Ward) along with the regular and interim etc etc etc....

Numbers 2, 3 and 4 in their latest rankings are Geale, Jarrod Fletcher and Patrick Nielsen. Andy Lee at 12 and Billy Saunders at 15...

He might say that, but I don't believe that is what he believes in his heart.

He was given his title, drew his next fight - and the fight after, beating a boxer just inside the world top 100 doesn't make you a world champion.

Quigg is a good boxer and there are good fights out there - Frampton being the obvious one - but that is unlikely as they both separately pursue a "title" when in fact neither boxer will be the "real" champion.

It's not a Frampton-Quigg thing, I respect Scott and his achievements, he has just not earned a world title in my eyes.
