Just watched - Enzo stopped a game Fry in the 7th round, corner threw in the towel. Enzo looked decent

Enzo did look decent and he's a decent man as well; he could have smashed Fry with a right hand that was on it's way at the sound of the bell and stopped himself, class. Fry did well and ought to keep on.

I've always liked Enzo from a personal and sporting perspective. Apart from his chin, he has almost everything

Love to see him pick up the British and euro light heavy. So admire him for coming back after some truly horrific knock outs

Liam Smith looked very good, he was excellent - Thompson knows how to box and fight and was taken apart.

Enzo IS decent! Most of his losses have come to serious World class bangers.

I agree, but his chin has made it difficult to go that extra level

Enzo is extremely brave to get back through the ropes after some of the abuse he gets on here :OhYes:

You've got a good point but it has to be put into context; anyone Haye, Afolabi, Frankel or Lebedev hits clean is out and clean out - there are boxers who go their whole career and don't face a very good hitter, those 4 are world class hitters and Ovill isn't a slouch either and neither was Swaby, he got a few good scalps.

True - so is it a defensive issue?

I'm not sure, he is a tall and offensive minded fighter, he gets caught and it is dramatic; I like how he comes across and how he boxes and I admire his bravery; I think he's improving though won't get to the heights he did; he's got a very good and intelligent trainer in Gary Lockett; he knows about boxing.

i really wanted Macaranelli to stop fighting a few years back as his punch resistance seemed to have faded dramatically although he never had an iron chin but it seems he has made a few changes to his defence and ring generalship and he can still compete at a certain level when protecting himself well. I still think he is likely to unravel when tagged on the button but similar applies to quite a few fighters...

Took some good shots tonight and from Ovill, so his chin looks to be stronger now he's gone down a weight, maybe the stoppages were partly down to him being outweighed at cruiser.

Maybe; I remember Nigel Benn moving up 7lbs from middle and him talking about how difficult it was, how the men were stronger, harder and hit more solid; if Enzo is better at light middle it'd explain a few things though the men who wiped him out would knock a horse out.

I think his prob was he was always'trying' to look good and get the ko. Seems Gary Lockett has him boxing to orders a bit more and he's getting them anyway.

It was a great fight. And Courtney gave it his best shot. We are extremely proud of him. His character really shone through throughout the whole fight. Right up until the end Courtney was right in it.
Well done to Enzo and Gary. Good luck for the future boys.

Courtney should keep plugging away, he hits hard and still keeps in good nick; he put up a good fight and is still at a good level.
