was it ALL to do with his hip?
Was Darren Barker awful or Felix Sturm fantastic?

I dont think Barker was fit to box, but went ahead anyway because of the reported massive pay day. Regrettably I dont think we'll see Barker box again. His body is broken, and it showed.

Barker fought like an idiot for a round and a half. Sturm fought well but Barker was fighting like a knob.

I just think Barker got caught cold - Sturm unexpectedly jumped on him, surprised Barker who was expecting a tactful fight. Darren didn't looked warmed up

Did anyone else think the towel was thrown in to early?

Barker looked in good enough nic at the start an didn't show any bad signs until knockdowns. I like Barker but he might not come back from this now.

Terrible showing by barker!! Before his hip looked dodgy stir was looking better but maybe the hip Has stopped preparations!
Barker should of stayed in the ring & apologised to fans!!! I can understand him getting a pay day if his hip is putting him out but explain it to the fans!!!

Was he bollocks. The Punisher, Pac-Man all stayed in the ring after been switched off, Ricky was embarrassed as Darren is I bet.

Even though I see people's reasons for not wanting spoilers, but why go on a boxing forum if you don't want to know the results? Anyway Sturm was incredible tonight, but Barker also seemed to have the wrong tactics.

I agree with this! We will see an xray in the morning of the dislocated hip and that will confirm it

Considering people thought he was shot. He blew a world champion away in 2 rounds injured or not. Sturm seems back to his best.

I think that says more about Barker tonight though than Sturm being amazing.

Hatton lost to a great fighter who was a p4p top boy at the time. Barker just got done by an old, over the hill Sturm, who has needed favours from refs for a while now.

Barker sounded like he had lost the fire during the whole build up. Hope he for a nice pension out of it

Then with all the concern showed the other week about what may happen if Froch landed another punch on Groves; whay was Barker allowed to contest a world title bout? If he was crocked going in, what would have happened if he'd been really done in? All's well that ends well and they'll all have made a lot of money but had Sturm wrecked Barker then they'd have been scratching their heads and our sport (not their business) would have been in real trouble.

Have to agree.I think barker knew he was in a bad way before bell rung.if he had been fit no way this would have happened likely would have been 12 rounds

Strum looked liked a beast tonight, he started like I'd never seen him before, that said Barker fought the wrong fight, he went in to mix it up - bad idea.

As for the dislocated hip, well he was walking out of the ring on his own, when I dislocated my hip I had to be dragged along on the doctors! He certainly had a hip problem though
