Does anyone know if Tom Mesi, a heavyweight from Buffalo NY who fought in the 1920s-1930s, is related to Joe Mesi, and if so, how? I would assume so, both being boxers from Buffalo, but I'd like to know more.

That is Baby Joe's grandfather. Was a good amateur from near by Angola, NY. before coming to Buffalo. He became a policeman just like Joe's father did afterwards.
