Who promotes Paul McCloskey these days?

I know Dudey was on the books at Matchroom but he is making his first outing, in over a year, on the Hall Malinga card in Leeds.

Who is he with these days? Is it Hobson or is he just floating without a promotional deal?

McCloskey has signed with Hobson I believe.

Paul Smith has been added to the Excel card for next weekend. Assume he's signed with Matchroom therefore - was there an announcement ?

It's good to see Smith out again. Not sure if he has actually signed with Matchroom.

When did McCloskey leave Matchroom and was it a bitter split?

There was an article in the Irish News this week with quotes from Paul saying he was no longer with Matchroom but that the split was amicable and he recognised that Eddie had a growing stable and was unable to focus on him like you used to.

Thanks...I'm guessing that McCloskey won't be the only casualty of Eddie's ever growing stable in the near future.

Happened round the time of the Frampton/Matchroom split...Paul was hoping the get the Van Heerden fight on in Belfast on a Frampton bill but when that relationship broke down so did his chances of that fight

Thought he would push on after the Prescott win but it's all gone wrong since then. He looked OK in his last fight but looked like he would get found out anywhere in or around world level. Should be a decent fight against Fewkes.

I think it was because Matchroom werent really going to be putting on shows anymore in Belfast because the fact that Frampton was no longer there aswell. I think Eddie told him that it would probably be better for his career if he went with someone else.
