Romeo Romau World Champion?

Are they serious? cant believe rogowski just got robbed something silly, a draw at the very worst for him and they give the lad 4 rounds. shocking. this boy is not even gonna win a british unless he drops down to super bantam. Wont cut it at superfeather!

I had 3 rounds to 1 for Rogowski.. Romeo done nothing in that fight.. Would give him a close first round for a couple of good shots... He was out worked in the 2nd and 3rd and 4th Rogowski was on top.. Just shows how bad British boxing is when it's scored 40-36...

he was the same in the am's all show but couldnt cut it. He do well to win a welsh title the way he boxed tonight let alone a world title. And wtf was he wearing lolol

I like the lad.
But, it's style over substance. He was more pleased ducking a shot, then strolling around with a grin.
And he has those "martial arts" feet. Sam Soliman is a bit the same, in that they must have done kung fu for a while because they dont set their feet properly or get any real hip or shoulder into the shot.

No chance at superfeather. not big enough! not strong enough, not slick enough. hes easy to hit, takes left hands all day!! He runs away from shots and any decent fighter with a bit of ring craft will walk him into shots with ease. only 18 still but not for me:)

I thought Romaeo clearly won the first two with more accurate and cleaner work; I also thought he landed more in those rounds than his opponent did. The last two were close, but Romaeo's work was still more effective in my view and I don't have a problem with him winning.

Romeo won that quite clearly for me, better, cleaner shots landed throughout, that said the opponent was defo worth a round, 3 or 4 both a lot closer than the first 2, maybe 40 - 37/38??
It's the main reason a lot of "opponents" don't try that hard, they don't get even a share of a round when they have won it!! IMHO the board need to have a look at the way some of these 'undercard' fights are scored!!

I think taking this fight at very short notice for his second fight is commendable. The guy he is fighting was no mug and came to win. And at only 18 he is far from the finished article. Good luck to him, nothing wrong with having characters in Boxing.

thanks for that quality picture too.
As for Romeo he doesn't hit hard enough and is too easy to catch but at eighteen there is plenty of time to acquire craft and power.

I think he did enough to win.
He is very young and needs to sort his Barnet and shorts out but looks ok for 2 fights in.
Everyone agrees its a different world in the pro ranks then when a fighter goes pro we wanna moan about how he was as an amateur.
I don't know him and the playing up for the camera's make him look a bit of a plum but he is 18 and most people are a bit of a plum at that age.
I think Spencer isn't doing him any favours bigging him up like he is the second coming at this stage.
Though we are talking about him.

I was there and he done enough to win but it was close. Draw wouldve been fair. No way a world champion from what I seen.
Did you see the other fights? They had an old referee who didnt have a proper shirt on. When he got in the ring i thought he was going to sing the anthems!

Rogowski is no mug! He's a former European Amatuer Championships Bronze medalist who had 287 amatuer fights winning 240.In the pro ranks he was 6(2) 4(1) going into this fight,whilst this was only Romeo's second professional fight.Yes,he's a raw novice but surely he deserves some credit beating such a tough,formidable opponent who displayed some very good ringcraft in only his 2nd pro fight?
Romeo was originally scheduled to fight Chuck Jones who withdrew at the last minute and Rogowski was the only opponent available at the weight with literally 2 days before the show,so all credit to Romeo for beating him and to his trainer Spencer Oliver and the rest of Romeo's team, who decided to take the fight.
I thought that was what I said :?? My opinion was and is - he won the fight and showed balls in accepting to fight Rogowski.

Just to make a thing clear - Rogowski never won bronze at the european amateur championships. He won bronze at the european union championships in 2006, where he won 1 fight and then he was stopped in the first round by Zsolt Bedak in the semifinal.

Yes the guy he was fighting was a good opponent for a two fight novice and romeo definitely won the fight but he doesn't look like the next Naseem Hamed and that's how he's being touted.

he might do well if he goes down the weight but wont win nothing at superfeather is all im saying, Rogowski is in truth a superbantam and when he fought Ronnie Clark every time Ronnie hit him he was hurt! He leads in alot with his head and is a tough guy but Romeo should be beating him and in my opinion he didnt last night! I would say it was a draw atleast for rogowski!

Don't need to make Ronnie's win look better it does he stopped Rogowski. I actually want this lad to do well.. All the rounds apart from the 3rd were close which I scored to Rogowski.. I preferred the agressive style of Rogowski to the posturing of Romeo.. As for most people not agreeing most people think it was a close fight which I think it was.. I felt Rogowski overall out worked Romeo.. Worst case should of been a draw. I hope Romeo's team have a long look at the first 2 fights and try and get down to Super Bantam.
