Edited clips from Haye's sparring, not sure you can read a lot into this as it's not even consecutive for more than a few seconds.

It's not like Wilder went down.

Haye is a world class boxer, love him or hate him. Deontay is just a massive puncher. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Haye did have his way pretty easily with him. Everyone on Current Scene thinks the reason his opposition has been so poor is because his handlers know he has no chin. I hope he does fight Fury. My money if I had any would be on Tyson.

I think he had a pretty limited amateur background even though he won an olympic Bronze. Saying that though, so did Joshua and he looks pretty polished. I'd imagine Joshua is more the exception in that regard though.

You won't like the look of Wilder in this video where he faces someone who hits him back.

Sparring is practice. It's a place where a fighter can afford to make mistakes. Wilder was there to help Haye prepare. Haye was obviously more fit than Wilder too.

Floyd Mayweather along with many other top fighters have been bested and dropped numerous times in sparring. Look how it translated for him on fight night.

and how did Haye look in the fight? Oh we don't know because he cried off 3 fights in less than a year, still counting the money from booking fees though.

Getting dropped by the morbidly obese dwarf Dustin Nichols was a touch embarrassing!

Does the lack of movement and novice technique not concern you ? As soon as he gets tagged, the body posture goes to pieces.

Very watchable fighter to the masses due to the excitement.

Interesting. Someone on ESB posted some amateur footage of Wilder being flattened which didn't bode well. But amateur boxing is different than the pros, and then again so is sparring to the real thing. Like Rhino, I don't think we'll still be talking about Wilder a would be contender in 12 months time.

In response to your post - I admit when I saw coverage on ESB of him getting knocked on his arse - tadge worrying.

I could be wrong but I honestly believe his defence has vastly improved.

Going back to being knocked on his arse - the majority of fighters at heavyweight who get hit with a clean shot will invariably hit the canvas.

A prime example - I think Wladimir Klitschko is chinny, but he uses his other attributes to maximum effect and thus why I think he is a great champion because with a massive flaw he has found a way round it.

True but Wilder will not get away with being as negative as Wlad is often accused of being, nor is he as savvy. He's not strong (power and strength are not the same thing before anybody starts) enough to fight how Wlad fights either.

Deontay is what he is. He'll be in some exciting two-way fights sooner or later.

Wladimir has a brilliant boxing brain aswell and his judgement of distance is second to none IMO.

Indeed. Wladimir oozes class. We all know his major weakness and, as has been pointed out, he's adapted to compensate. He's not for everybody but who is?
