Well just recently I dreamed up Benitez vs Judah and that was pretty much unanimously blasted by most around here as a horrible mismatch.
Let me think....how about Leonard Dorin vs Antonio Demarco?

I've always liked the thought of Fireman Jim Flynn facing Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Or Philadelphia Jack O'Brien vs Michael Dokes.

Granberry vs The Duchess in a toe-wrestling contest.
Actually, maybe it already happened if the one on the right is a fat poofter in a blonde wig.

not necessarily strange, but i'd love to see
mayweather against p4p kings like greb,
SRR, SRL, duran or hagler. i have two souls
within me on this. on the one hand i think
they expose him on the other i can't see how.

Always wanted to see Bert Cooper vs Jessie Ferguson. Both fought many of the best of the same era and almost always lost. Who would have won if they fought each other? The winner to take on James Tillis.
John Ruiz vs Chris Byrd. This would have been a great experiment to cure insomnia.

How about Ottke V Eubank.
Dullest imaginary fight between two talented boxers I can come up with. It's either twelve rounds of both waiting for the other man to make the first move or Eubank becomes frustrated and impatient, like he did in the second Benn fight, and gets caught by a few quick, light, but scoring punches from Ottke. Either a draw (first scenario) or a narrow win for Ottke (second scenario).
Can anyone else come up with really boring imaginary matchups?

A 19 1/2 year-old - Greg Page makes his 'Professional Debut' as a Title Challenger.
I like Greg Page to completely 'thwart-off' any offensive charges of Muhammad Ali in February 1978.
That's an Ali diss I can almost go along with. I've not seen his debut, but every Greg Page I've seen, even the wobbly one, if a hard night for 78 Ali.

How's that for strange?

I've picked half-a-dozen heavyweight fights that did not happen and perhaps were not that vitally important in the great scheme of the division...but where you sense some fireworks would have happened and some drama unfolded. The clash of (or complete meeting of styles) as well as size is also a consideration.
Hide v Valuev
Bugner v Sanders
Witherspoon v Tua
Haye v Johansson
Henry Cooper v Holyfield
Bonnavena v Bruno

Those had me in stitches imagining them! Especially Pipino hammering Khan and Duran destroying Mitchell.

The Ruiz vs Byrd fight would have been fascinating in terms of a purist point of view...
But in a practical sense I can't see this fight capturing the public's imagination.

Indeed.
Jackson kills Barker.
Cueves kills Khan
Duran kills Mitchell.
Tyeon kills Toney.
As a matter of debate, I don't even see the possibility of the more recent fighters winning at all.
