I know there's many people on here who know their stuff. Wondered if you can tell me if anyone recently did more than this. In my 100 fights 17 boys went on to win or fight for British commonwealth European or world title. 1 in every 5 boxed at this level. Has this been beaten in the last few years. I hope not as I'm quite proud of that

Even if it has been beaten which I don't think it has, you should be very proud of what you have achieved. Well done. Who do you personally rate as the best that you faced?

There was a lot of good fighters. Perez was good. Extremely heavy handed.

One of the geeks might did an example out from way back but all the guys I can think of who fought 80+ had plenty of 'local ticket sellers' on their records alongside the higher calibre guys.

Peter Buckley has got at least 50 on his record , but he did have 300 fights. It probably depends how you count those who you/he fought more than once. In any event both records to be proud of. Being pedantic, 17 in 100 is nearer 1 in 6.

Hahaha. Be as pedantic as you like sir. I did forget to include area champions in that. I don't know if its this thread or the other you just posted but I can assure you I won untold rounds I was not given on the scorecards. The fact I was never given a draw is an absolute nonsense. I'm pretty sure most refs hardly watched the fight without having 40/36 already on the scorecard.i always made a point of congratulating the boys I fought and I went into the winning changing room plenty to find it more the the losing one. Them boys knew full well they were beaten no matter what the official score was

Recent boxer would be Howard Clarke. He's fought over 20 who went on to British, Euro or World title fights.

in last five years best i can think of is tony booth.He fought over 35 guys who fought for thosekind of level titles and some of them he fought three or four times each would take it up to 50 fights against top caliber opposition

Those two blokes were great journeymen.there must be a couple more? I really don't mind coming behind those guys.thats good company for me to be in.havent they both got books? Maybe I should get jotting. Haha. Mind you.id be surprised if they were double heavy on the sauce the night before & still half sloshed on the way there. Dumbarse I know but unfortunately very true.

Tony was regularly out drinking when he got the call to box. He boxed hungover loads of times. Great book. He should do an updated version when he gets out!

I had 54 fights, 18 of those was against people who had fought for or won British titles or above, also I fought the current Spanish champion, also this was spread from bantam to Super middle
