I have never bought a ticket to go to a boxing event.

In this case, with Takaloo pulling out, would you be able to get a refund if you wanted?

Also, in the case of Hatton fighting Pederson, would you have been able to get a refund for your ticket if you had bought 1 for Pinto vs Hatton?

no you cant. certainly not for the hatton fight it states as much on the tickets.

It's a shame..the peripheral fan may have bought his tickets on the back of Tak headlining the show.
These are the type of fans we need back in the game. People who can be sold on the sport.
Still it is not "official" official so I can hope it still goes on.

As is, all I seem to see at the shows I go to, are more and more football supporters on the pi$$.
Each to their own and I have no problem with that...at the end of the day these guys and everyone else who buy tickets are helping the fighters on the card and paying their appearance money. (and the promoters of course)
Anoraks like me who have been watching boxing for a good few years now, do understand.

Will still enjoy the show , Mitchell and Power will hopefully be extended a bit so we can assess them a little better. Danny Williams down on card too I see although not sure how concrete that is?

I see O'Hara-Laryea is also off on the bill (in fairness they'be brought in the dangerous Mongolian Choi to replace Laryea). Laryea is a man I cited as a good comeback opponent for Naz and I was looking forward to seeing him in action.

Choi is the business..... beat John McKay twice and John is pretty damn good....

Changing or rather cancelling main events is a disgrace if no substitute bout of a comparable quality is put on.

Legally I think you could have a good claim for a refund - won't bother posting a boring analysis of contract law.

So its Choi vs O'Hara now? Good fight, but isn't there a bit of a weight difference.

The sole reasoning why Choi isn't in the rankings is because of his ineligability to fight to for the British title.

I don't know what this is all about but I do know it's nothing to do with fighter/manager conflict that's being banded about.

Surely the main reason for going was to see heavyweight sensation John McDermott make his return to the ring.

Duran fight's off. Nothing to do with managerial woes, just a shoulder injury. Nothing too serious, Tak has a bruised shoulder socket (left arm).
He said he got hit on the arm when he was sparring last week against Andrew Lowe.

He said he could hardly use it at all in training this week and it had not got any better so he went to get it checked out.

He saw a specialist this morning who advised him to rest the arm for two weeks and have massage treatment. Tak gutted but relieved as he thought it might be something more serious.
Danny Williams has been moved to the top of the bill apparently.

Isn't it George Kandalaki?? I won't be overly dissapointed by this - I believe he has a high European Ranking and I am sure with his amateur record, alot of Williams critics (who have never seen Kandalaki) will be tipping the big man.

Errrm, a tad out of line there Gooroo. One thing Tak's not been afraid of is to fight with injury. I can give you a running list of things he's taken into fights and I've got no reason to lie (bruised ribs, very sore hands and on and on). Tak will also tell you that most fighters when it's near fight time get little niggles which are more associated with nerves than fight-threatening injuries and that's just part and parcel of being a fighter.

However, this time round he said he'd also been hit on it by Andrew Lowe in sparring and that he'd lost the feeling in his arm up to his shoulder for a bit and it was sore. He was round my house at my littlun's birthday party a day or two after it happened and his shoulder looked a bit swollen and he said he was having weird tingling sensations up his arm.

He thought that was just a dead arm and that he'd be okay but I think when he went back tot he gym on the Monday he couldn't really use it and he was going to just get through it by doing all the training he could but it didn't get better at all during the week, so he went to see a specialist who'd sorted out his hands in the past to get it looked at.

He also thought the injury was something to do with his wrist, which plays him up a lot. In fact, he sufferes from tendonitis and has done since his amateur days. He's also got a cyst (you would think it was a ganglia if you looked at it.
One thing Tak is not is a shirker and scared to fight. He just couldn't use his left hand and after such a nightmare last time out where even he admits he was a fool to fight, he wasn't going to do it again, and believe me, he's gutted. He'd whipped himself into good shape.

Oh, and remember, unless you've seen what Tak and other fighters put themselves through in the gym to get ready for a 12-round fight (and remember, they don't get paid to train) then you may realist that the fight is the pay-off for all the hard work.

To train as hard as they do and then they get injured so near to a fight must be soul destroying.

well there is a bit of Karma for you....
Takaloo takes the piss out of Wayne claiming he is scared to fight him when in reality Wayne has quite a bad knee injury.....
so do we know all say Takaloo is scared of Ossie Duran?????????
