Sorry boys i know its old news but last week(when my computer was broke) i was wondering why Lee was allowed to fight for the Euro belt after a loss,i,ve read numerous times that you cant fight for that belt coming off a loss

I,m sure that was why John Murrays Euro strap wasnt on the line when he fought Kevin Mitchell as Mitchell was coming off a defeat, theres other instances that escape me

Does the rule not apply if your loss was a World title tilt?

Does anybody give an eff :?? ;;-)

After Degale lost to Groves, it was changed to a 'bad defeat' generally taken to mean a stoppage or a one sided beating, but Purdy's fight with Alexander was exactly that, so I haven't got a clue what it is now.

I'm not 100%, so don't hold me too it, but has far has I'm aware EBU rules state that you can fight for a EBU title coming off a loss (I.e world title loss) but rules state not for a period of about 6 months I think, same has if your the EBU champ, relinquish to go and fight for world title and lose you can fight for your EBU title again for a clear 6 month period.
