i don't think i've seen anything about terry marsh in a long time ,an unbeaten IBF champ yet he never mentioned now .
since he was charged with shooting fwarren he has disapeered from sight and mind .

Decent fighter but not in Hatton's league. Got spoken about a fair bit a few years ago when he released Undefeated which isn't the worst read in the world.

Even with the politics and good boxing career it is still illegal to start a thread on him without mentioning the possible shooting of Frank Warren

Terry was one of my guests (alongside Amir Khan and the late Sir Henry Cooper) when I went to meet Muhammad Ali in Windsor Castle a few years ago (late 2009 perhaps). I'm not name dropping or anything ......

I had a good chat with him for a few hours. He has a few interesting stories to tell about the boxing industry! I believe he said that he's a stockbroker or a chartered accountant now, I can't remember which.

Didn't he stand as a Lib Dem MP a few years ago? He is certainly intelligent and has had a really interesting life (Marines, Fireman, World Champion boxer, inmate, politician/counsellor and now a stock broker!?) Well played that man - weren't he really good at chess as well?

Terry stood as an independent candidate in the elections. Terry changed his name via deed poll to 'None Of The Above X'. He initially wanted to create a political party with that name but it was refused so he decided to change his own name via deed poll

He is an iconoclast alright; he was a damn good boxer as well; I remember him v Manley and Kimeda; it's just as well Camacho didn't get a grip on him but he was good, no doubt about it.

Changed his name to None of the above X and ran as an independent. Was going to run as a lib dem but fraud allegations meant he had to pull out. Also was interested in running for Labour, but they had a female only shortlist in Basildon at the time

Thank you for corroborating this. I once mentioned it on Boxrec News & caught people on forums moaning that I was being disrespectful by making up such a stupid story.

I'm sure I read recently he'd taken his stockbrocker employers to court for unfair dismissal or something similar ,I remember watching his fight with Manley and cheering him on shame how his career finished .

The lady organising the Muhammad gala dinner contacted me directly and asked me to invite some boxing guests to attend the event. She did not have any boxing contacts, nor did she have any boxing knowledge and needed some help. She wanted a mix of past and present boxers. In return she would let me head the table of boxers and I was also allowed to bring one guest.

It was an invite only event, no tickets went on sale. It was a great experience. There was competitive dressage, show jumping and an orchestra present

marsh v hatton, different weight's to start with, hatton would be to weak to prolong his attacks, marsh would break him down bit by bit.

They were both light welterweights. Who was Hatton too weak against in the past? He walked through everything that everyone bar the best two fighters in the world had to offer and gave more in return. Marsh is the one broken down and stopped, not Hatton.

hattons fighting weight was 11.4. on the day he would be too drained.

He weighed in at 10st for years. How would he have been drained? He was fine for every fight with the weight bar Pacquaio, Terry Marsh doesn't last 9 rounds with Hatton, plenty of fighters put more than that on after the weigh in. The actual effect would have been that he would have been too big and too strong and taken him out with body shots.

lol, hatton had the luxury of weighing in a day and half b4 fight time, he himself told me his best fighting weight was 11.4, when i asked about scrapping at 10 on the day he told me to fk off lol.

And? All fights now have day before weigh ins, with those Terry Marsh doesn't stand a chance against Hatton, with same day weigh ins he still wins if he didn't blow up between fights.

X2. I laughed out loud at the idea of Marsh wearing down Hatton

ok, but if weigh ins where still a few hours b4 the contest hatton would not of boxed at 10st while marsh would, had the boxers of terry's era had that option to weigh the day b4 he himself would be a 9.4 fighter. boxers today are generally bigger by diet and a better knowledge of conditiong, the day b4 weigh ins have for the most part taken away from boxing, last minute replacements are often giving away to much of everything.

I was told that hatton would not of boxed at 10st if the weigh in was the same day as the fight.
