I think he already did pretty much. Or at least he strongly implied it.

Il Duce wrote:BoxBuzz wrote:No I don't believe he did........now the question is...are you going to say he said it?
I believe that was what was going around prior to the bout with Ron Lyle in 1975.
A determination of how much money ABC stood to make in Broadcasting his bouts.
MEMO:
TO Il Duce
RE: cred
Could this describe a "feeling" that people might have had?...because of a "gravy train". mentality?...and that's a LITTLE something aint it? However, to my way of thinking this is light years away....and I mean LIGHT YEARS from Howard actually speaking such words and having those words on the record. Not that it matters all that much to anyone but boxing enthusiasts. (Which in case you aren't aware, this is a place where just that sort of folks visit from time to time)
One (YOU for example) should refrain from such "erroneous and extraneous extrapolation" or one could become guilty of "egregious and ignominious exploitation" of one's communication skills.
Wouldn't you agree? If so...How do you plead regarding my accusation?
Reflect on this, and May this help you become ever mindful that when you imply within your report...others may mistakenly infer. l And this is EXACTLY what you DON'T want when attempting to become a trusted source of information.
All the best....your pal
Buzz.

Why would you think he cares about credibility?
He spends his time writing fiction about Ali. It's not that he's biased or kind of saying things a certain way, he just completely makes stuff up as he goes along.

Buzz has a soft spot for Il Duce for some reason and seems to want to believe there's more to him than there is.

Ok...hold the phone......I'm just tryin' to figure out what to do with an insidious contributor that refuses to break a rule. lol.
No rule against "lying", or "writing fiction" either one. Maybe their should be but their aint.
So...I do what I can to try to remind people "Never buy a pig in a poke".
In other words...one must "poke the pig a few times"..
why?
Poke 1. to be certain that this creature is indeed a pig.
Poke 2. to see if the pig is really alive
Poke 3. to seek if the pig is a quality pig
Poke 4. to see if the pig will likely render a good quality ham and/or bacon.
By the way.....looks like THIS PIG...is D.O.A. lol I think he's attempting to sell it as a chicken now.

There's no rule against writing fiction, no.
But it shows bad faith to come here and insinuate, when not outright fabricating, quotes and occurrences about a fighter.
There's no rule against me making a thread saying that Tim Bradley is afraid of fighting Michael Vick, and making up all kinds of quotes by him or others, insinuating hateful things about his private life and the validity of his career. Hell, I could do that in every single post, I make, in a similar fashion that this deranged guy does about Ali.
I could do it, doesn't mean I should. I'd imagine I'd be met with the same derision as he is. And rightfully so.
