There been talk on this forum about it. Quigg congradulated Martinez in the ring at weekend. I'd be suprised if this isn't on in April. Personally I think this is a quality matchup especially when Kiko could well be better than when he was stopped against Frampton due to the improved confidence of being a World Champion.

Saw clips of the fight at weekend ( http://as.com/videos/2013/12/22/portada ... 65302.html ) brief but you can see how relentless Kiko is.

I just watched Frampton Martinez again and it reminded me of how good a fighter Frampton is. We just don't know if Scott can box on the back foot like that.

My predicition ? I'm going to go Quigg in a close / disputable but brutal points win.

Quigg can box. I'll take him late stoppage.

amazing matchup. Martinez is on a mission, at the moment after 2 brutal wins over lanky, world class opposition. quigg is very sensible in there and plants brutal shots.

Kiko stopped Hasegawa in round 7 today and looked impressive. Not seen Hasegawa fight before but having won a world title in the weight below and above I can only assume he is of very good pedigree.

Eddie said they were going ' balls deep' for Scotts next fight hope he walks the walk now and gets this top fight made soon.

Hasegawa nowhere near the AMAZING fighter he used to be :( we saw glimpses of the old Hasegawa magic in round 5 but that was pretty much it. The Japanese fight was too willing to trade too often and it cost him in round 2, round 6 and eventually round 7. If you've not seen him before it's well worth watching some of his fights, sensational fighter in his pomp.

Interesting fight. If Martinez goes at Quigg with a high tempo I think Quigg will struggle as I dont think he moves/ boxes aswell on the backfoot as Frampton does.

Quigg will need to be switched on as Martinez will put him under constant pressure, but if he gets his tactics right and has the discipline to stick to the gameplan I can only see him wearing Martinez down and stopping him late.

What's happening with the proposed Frampton VS. Santa Cruz? It would be great if both these fights came off and then the winners (hopefully Frampton & Quigg) then fought. I know, boxing politics and all that....

If this scenario happened would the winner of Quigg & Frampton then be ready for Rigondeaux?

In theory yes, but at the moment Frampton and Quigg are acting as though Rigo doesn't exist.. wonder why!

Because they know they will probably lose and it will be a very boring fight. Nobody is really interested in seeing Rigo fight, what would losing to him in a boring UD give to either fighter at this stage of their career...
