Get used to it. He'll keep going for at least 5 more years.

It's a shame some of our younger heavies aren't as active as Danny.

surely a better analogy would be ...

if you used to work in swanky offices for fairly decent wages and you had a position of relative seniority and your work colleagues looked up to you.....but now you keep getting asked to work miles away in shite offices where the work colleagues are knobs and everyone thinks your an idiot and the wages are slim... would you go?????

Seriously though, imo Williams clearly won... He was MUCH more effective with solid body work in combo. ALmost all of Mazrek's shots hit Williams gloves. Mazrek was busier though in straight shots and that might have impressed the judges. Mazrek scored what a KD in round 3 but it looked more like a loss of balance. I gave Mzarek that round because of the KD and the 4th. The others were Williams round imo.

Still no doubt Williams needs to hang his gloves as soon as possible because the few little shots that connected seemed to put him off balance and his footwork was awfull (shitty balance).

Hls of the fight here:

Williams must've earned well from boxing - Tyson, Klitschkos plus plenty of Euro/Brit title fights and matches against Euro prospects. As a non- partying, modest guy I can't believe he pissed all his money up the wall. What a shame he's still fighting

i take that point. and in fairness i havent seen Danny discombobulated so much lately. there was a period when he was always all over the place. that was really worrying.
i remember him all at sea from the first punch that carl baker threw in prizefighter. and we all know Baker cant punch for toffee.
i still think Dannys euro exploits are very silly. what makes it so uncomfortable is how the eurosport commentators know full well that what they are promoting is very embarrassing and makes even them a bit queasy.

Williams earnt a pittance from the Tyson fight, $50,000 as I recall, and the promoter never even paid up, in the end Warren had to pay his purse for him, as the guy who staged the fight was a shonky git.

Vitali wouldn't have given him a great payday, it was a voluntary defence.

Surely the Harrison fights paid well, and the Skelton ones - these were main events in the Excel and Millenium stadium.

Holyfield is in CBB, when you have a living to earn you gotta do what you gotta do, pride don't pay.

Surely Danny has built up a number of contacts over the years that mean he could earn money else where? I mean he Ko'd Mike Tyson and that son his CV for life. Surely he could probably get himself on dancing on ice with the right management behind him :OhYes:

Regardless whos on your cv you are a nobody when you retire unless you have attraction to do tv commentary or talk overs. I do not think Danny has either of those. Also he has no personality to talk on tv such as Richie Woodhall, Barry Mc etc etc. His cv means nothing now as he is almost a nobody like the likes of 20 thousand other boxers that have beaten ex world champions. Thats life im affraid, Danny is trying to get as much cash as he can because he is going to need it at some point when the music stops!

I can't understand the problem, Danny is well matched lately, his last two opponents have not been near his level, his level now, he is earning his money and keeping in shape, he has admitted he is not championship level anymore and is cashing in on his name, the best way he knows how, good luck to him.

Granted, good luck to him but whos going to come out of the woodwork when hes in a coma on life support?

I bumped into Jason Rushton this morning; Danny Williams is playing a dangerous game, money (and school fees) isn't (aren't) everything.
