Maybe he is now Gun shy? He wouldn't be the first.

Is this the same froch that everyone was calling a warrior before the groves fight?? Froch is still a warrior, why wont ginger george give degale a rematch cause george didnt win that fight imo????
Froch stops groves degale gets ripped by judges so if groves gives degale a rematch then froch should fight the winner

My gut feeling is Froch knows he got lucky and that the chances of winning a rematch are not in his favour, as a result i think he will continue to try and convince himself he won the first fight fair and square and will use this mindset as his reasoning for opting out of the rematch.
If he bottles it, he is not the warrior i thought he was.

He'll find his bank balance nice by 2015 that is for sure. Also he has the ego, persona and arrogance to not give a fornicate about a groves rematch but chase a ward rematch after a good payday next fight and they retire

Harsh title . Carl has shown he's a nutter with no fear and plenty of hunger coupled with a massive ego which may well propel him into a rematch with Groves.
Rather than Benn v Eubank 2 I think it will be more Eubank v Watson 2 minus the terrible aftermath.

Just shows how quick so called "fans" can turn, before this fight everyone was saying froch doesnt shy away from a fight and what a warrior he is,yet these same people are saying he has lost his bottle, froch doesnt owe us fans or any body else a rematch with groves,he has proved to me over the past 5-6 years he has more bottle than most in the boxing world today.

Anyone who steps in that ring has balls & to get up off the floor take a pasting & come back & take over takes heart, guts, desire & a wheelbarrow to carry your bollox!!!
Pathetic thread.
Let's see how many tough fights George can withstand & keep going because they are all tough now!!
Froch has shown himself up as a hypocrite but then so as George !
Froch played down groves & degale as opponents saying he'd ruin there careers,I think it's degales turn now, George lost & has came out better!

Name 1 other boxer in the UK who has consistently faced the very best in his division .. I will even give you retired boxers as well to seek your name!!

Yep - defo!!!
Whilst I fully appreciate I am heavily biased towards Froch ... George Groves has undeniably withstood his first stern test at world level against Froch albeit he
LOST.
Who will be George Groves Manager!! ... important role for whoever he chooses - or is that role something George feels he can do himself ... rumours from my corner shop say he is trying failing miserably to do it himself.
Who will be George Groves promoter? ... does Groves have ideas about his progression way beyond reality? Do not be surprised if one of the lesser known promoters in the UK signs him ;;-) ... although one of the big boys remain favourites!!
What will 2014 bring for Groves? who will he fight at World Level?

I don't see the relevance of how many tough fights Groves can withstand. What's relevant is that he said he was better than Froch, got in the ring and proved it beyond all reasonable doubt.

I had to watch it again yesterday because of the amount of people telling me Groves proved to be better/won the fight/was on the end of the biggest robbery in the history of the sport etc
Was quite surprised to see Froch not only walk out the ring at the end given the apparent frightening beating he took but he also walked out with the belts firmly around his waist whilst Groves was crying in to Booth's shoulder...

The amount of hysterics over this fight is embarrassing and is far more deserving of football and one of its million forums.
Early stoppage? I think so. Make no mistake though, Groves was bang in trouble at the time of the stoppage and entering very, very deep waters. Shame we didnt get a conclusive result

When you watched it back did you notice Froch getting knocked clean out in the first round, and Froch getting booed at Ringside, because everyone in the arena felt he was losing and extremely ungratious in his post-fight interview?

For someone getting knocked clean out in the first round he did well to get back up, smile and come back actually throwing punches before the round finished...
The crowd's displeasure was misplaced. They should have been booing the ref, he stopped it. All Froch did was get up and go on to take more big shots before getting himself back in to the fight and putting George in trouble. He didnt stop it.
Froch's interview was cringeworthy and only made the booing worse but hey ho, his interview meant eff all in regards of what actually happened in the fight. He was losing the fight, but only 8 and a bit rounds had passed. It was a 12 round fight. The only conclusion one could come to is that Groves is a better man than Carl over 8 rounds

The conclusion I came to was that Groves would have been the better man over 12 had it not been for the twitchy arsed Mr Foster.

Its been plain daft at times on here.
Groves looked a million dollars first few rounds, froch looked old. However I think it took him a couple rounds to completely shake the knockdown off. The sky commentary was pathetic by the way.
By round 7 or 8 I really fancied froch to win and thought groves had shot his load.
But both men come out of it with massive credit. Groves performed massively above most reasonable expectation (and so much revisionist shite on here - majority of people picking George thought he'd run all night and squeak a points win - not stand and go to war) and froch showed he is an unbelievably hard bastard. The finish was neither man's fault.
To say Froch has no balls is plain stupid. I'd like to see a rematch but as others have said if it doesn't happen groves will just have to lump it. They didn't think about degale for one second and it cuts both ways.
