To the posters who are from the territory of the former Soviet Union. ------ When the former Soviet Union was around, from 1917 till 1991. ------ Did boxers exist who were close to the top American boxers?

When the Soviet Union broke up in 1991. From 1991 till now. ------- Have there been any top boxers from the former Soviet territories of Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan who were close to the top American boxers?

For the heavyweight division? Did the former Soviet territories have any top heavyweights who were close to Joe Louis, Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles, Rocky Marciano, Sonny Liston, Ken Norton, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Earnie Shavers &/or Muhammad Ali?

For boxings "pound of pound" category? Did the former Soviet territories have any top boxers in the pound for pound category who were close to Harry Greb, Henry Armstrong, Sugar Ray Robinson, Tony Canzoneri, Benny Leonard, Kid Gavilan &/or Willie Pep?

Hard to ask in your question.

Soviet Amateur School was one off the greatest in the world.

But could be great Soviet amateurs fought against great professionals? This is a big question.

I would see many Soviet Amateurs in professional boxing.
