Floyd Patterson was the better fighter of the two. Page might just win because of the difference in sizes between both boxers.

Floyd was the more sucessful fighter of the two, against better competition, though Page's ability to the minimum was at least equal if not better.Again, 81-82 version of Greg, Floyd has his hands full, and might lose a decision, after being floored a few times. Most likely Floyd outworks Page for a good UD.Page is one of the few that would give Floyd problems with his hand speed.

Floyd by comfortable decision, although he might get dropped once or twice.

With that prime right that Greg had, about five or six times.

For all his shortcomings and less than impressive record, Greg Page survived pretty good shots from hard hitting heavyweights and even had some impressive performances in his day before abruptly fizzling into anonymity. I don't think Floyd would have much of a chance at a knockout or stoppage here. Taking it on points is his only bet. But he'd be facing a much bigger man with a lengthy wingspan, good chin, fair boxing ability and slightly above average power. Floyd might get decked a few times which won't help him on the cards. I've always liked Patterson as a fighter..And his resume on paper looks far better than Page's - Olympic gold medalist, youngest heavyweight champ ( before Tyson), first guy to regain the title, and some decent wins. But his legacy belies his abilities as he was carefully matched. I don't have the confidence to pick him in too many head to head match ups. He was comparatively small for a man entering the modern age of big men. He had poor balance and a weak chin. And while his boxing skills were sound, he somehow ended up eating a lot of shots. Ingemar Johannson was not a fighter that I can see going too far in very many heavyweight eras, yet he KO'd a prime Patterson in their first meeting and very nearly duplicated the feat in their third. Cus D'Amato did his duty as a trainer and manager in protecting his man.. But that's not something that even the best of handlers can do in fantasy fights.

This is a tough call. both were decent in many facets but not great.

Page could punch and Patterson had the supect chin; but Page didn't hit that hard that often. Patterson probably could hit harder, but Page had a good though not great chin. Neither had great defenses, but weren't punching bags either.

The "weight advantage" that Page would have would not be an advantage. If Page weighed say 220 like he should have, then he would have had a weight advantage. Instead, he was overweight, and it cost in some speed and his workrate wasn't as high as it would have been.

It's easy to look at a few either of their results and think they would be in big trouble. Patterson got blown out a few times; Page looked awful in losing against Tubbs, lost to a 37 year old Joe Bugner, journeyman Mark Wills and David Bey.

Both had some really good performances; Patterson fight with Moore, 2nd fight vs Johansson, Chuvalo and at the age of 37 he beat Bonavena.
Page beat Coatzee (albiet controversially), Snipes, and looked good in blowing out Ledoux and Evangelista.

Patterson did decked in soem fights and came back to win (Rademacher, Johannson, Bonavena) and Page did that against Tillis.

This could be a very close fight with both guys hitting the deck.
I guess when push comes to shove, I will go with Patterson who was more consistent. Too often, Page turned in a listless performance.
