Would the SECC not be cheaper?? Could just be the Hydro is booked.. I found it weird as thought the Hydro held a lot more

Think the Hydro was already booked, the SECC is probably better for Ricky anyway, seems to be an absolute bearpit in there, don't know what the Hydro's like, but I doubt it could be as hostile as the SECC because of the layout, the more intimidating for Crawford, the better.

Ryder on it still trying to make Mcewan. Any news on Simpson opponent? Any mention of Johnson

I didn't see Simpson at the conference, there was no mention of Ryder either although Eddie has said in the past he is trying to make that fight with mccewan.

We talking Jon Simpson here? (Cannot think of another Simpson).... if yes, Glad he is getting another title fight. I did not like his fight with Coyle when it was announced, thought it was a huge mistake.

Simpson is a fighter who I would LOVE to have a "Curtis Woodhouse" style shot at a World title, not exactly first in the line but you know he'll always make a fight of it.... and you never know.

He should not be fighting at Lightweight though, if we wants to move weights from Super Feather it should be down in weight. Once said he would make Super Bantam.

Assume we are also meaning Rhys Roberts also? Another fighter I am glad is getting a second shot. Very disappointed in his effort in the Prizefighter final a few years ago..... but deserves a second stab I feel.... clearly talented.

It is Michael Roberts who is managed by Alex Morrison.

Eddie said Joshua is fighting Hector Alfredo Avila who is 22-15-1 and took Chisora 9 rounds at the start of last year.

I dont imagine, Simpson, Brophy, Slowly or Roberts opponents will be up to much. Especially if McEwan vs Ryder ends up on the card.

If Brophys fight is definitely for the 168 Celtic title then my guess is Jamie Ambler.

Roberts vs Roberts maybe (just remembering that Rhys has worked on matchroom promotions). Didn't realise that he didn't fight in 2013 mind.

I'm hoping Simpson's opponent will be a least ranked given its the silver title on the line. Don't like the belt, but have to say the limited times it has been fought for in the UK - there has a least been a decent opponent on paper in the opposite corner (Zuniga, Davis etc).

I heard debutant Ryan Smith could maybe get a spot, possibly if their is a call off or 2.

Ryan Smith was a highly rated amateur of over 120 fights, been out for a few years, I think he is 23.

Boxed in many internationals.

Ryder v McEwan fight is not happening according to Craig on twitter. For me a good decision as he needs time in the gym. Also not sure who Simpson will fight. Celtic title not sure who there is for Michael Roberts. I hope its somone with a positive record though. might bring out the best in him:)

Marco McCullough or James Tennyson would be good fights for this title or even Kris Hughes or Jon Slowey.. My money is on Dai Davies!!

McCullough and Tennyson would be stupid fights for Roberts, great for the fans but McCullough just took out Willie Casey and Tennyson seems to be a bit of a banger. Wouldn't be surprised if it was Kevin O'Hara or Michael Kelly.

He's not ready to be thrown in at that sort of level, like I said, great for fans, but no straight thinking matchmaker would make those fights. The Celtic title doesn't mean anything really, it's just a belt that can help towards getting eliminators for the British title.

Think Hearn mentioned in his interview with IFL that Joshua will be facing the guy Chisora put in a stinker against. Argentine fella a few fights back. Hopefully a decent learning fight for him.

He is 26 year old and is 13-0 with a lot of amateur experience. When will he be ready? He is never going to know unless he starts to test himself. As for not fighting Slowey what's the point of having 2 featherweight fighters and not fight each other both won't make British level and a fight may give more experience. It's not a Celtic title so who is Eddie kidding on? If he can't beat Tennyson or McCullough how on earth would he stand a chance against the likes of Walsh, Warrington or Mouniemme? Badger Hughes is a decent fight for him but no it's going to be a poor challenger. It's a shame Michael does have some skills but he needs tough matching to bring him on not what he's getting. He will just be in more trouble when he eventually steps up!!

What sane manager would match two of his best prospects against each other? Or put them into fights where there is a serious risk before they reach British and Commonwealth titles? Alex Morrison isn't that stupid. The time for the tough tests is at title level where the money is better and the rewards down the line are far bigger than a Celtic title fight could provide. Now isn't the time for a sink or swim fight, the money just isn't enough at this level for that sort of risk, so plot the easiest route to the British title, then look to take risks when the money's better and to see whether he needs to be stepped up further.
