How did you score it?
I didn't think it was a clear robbery, i had it for Sarmiento 115-113. But IMO, a lot of the rounds were close.
One judge had it 117-111 for Lynes. Madness.

The same as you. And I always score generously to the home man. Sarmiento would have got the verdict anywhere else in the world.

Enjoyed comebacking Ian Napa's points win over Danny Costello in a cracking domestic four-rounder. Both men emerged with credit yet all we got from commentator Adam Smith was that the match was "odd." Sky-TV are so used to screening mismatches they label a good match, 'odd'.
Sad.

Sarmeinto by won everything after round 3 for me, I was shocked Glenn gave the 11th to Lynes!

Can't believe it, don't say we are not as bad as Germany or Italy.

It did seem like an odd match to me, more for the fact that there were easier comeback fights for both men to take. After three years out i'd have thought it sensible to maybe get a few confidence boosters before they fought each other.
Costello looked really rusty. I think the lay off affected him more than Napa. I'd have liked to have seen the match made with both men a bit sharper. Maybe it could have been over 6 or 8 rounds as well (i've never liked 4 rounders, there's just no ebb and flow).

Other than that, no complaints. It's better than Mitchell bombing out another stiff.

Young Muttley won by KO on the Audley undercard, with a win over Sammy Smith, he did it quicker than Jennings as well. I can already see Richard Lakin's Sporting Star column next Saturday :TU:

Impressed with Napa also, can be a real domestic contendor at Bantam, I think he could still make Fly aswell cause he was certainly overweight as he acknowledged. Look good, very pleased for him.

I think Costello still has a to Amateurish style for the pro's, young and fresh enough to comeback and challenge.

I think Smith's term "odd" refered to the fact the I am sure both would have rather done some rounds in a safer contest. It was a strange choice of a comeback opponent for Costello and also Napa.

I am really starting to question the use of Women judges, I actually predicted (without knowing her previous form) that she'll be swayed by the crowd, especially when Lynes' wife (girlfriend?) was also confident he won.

Bami would be a step backwards for Hatton who should be looking at fighting one of the top 5 guys.

I had it for Sarmiento but only just - 116-115 - had splinters in my arse from fence-sitting up the home straight.

The standard of boxing was quite crude. Very poor fare for what was supposed to be a 'world' title.
