It was only highlights of that one Veit won the interim title with a points decision. Still hangs chin way up in the air, got tagged by overhand rights but boxed his way through.
Calzaghe would still beat him in a round I think.

The Argie looks like he might be a live challenger, from the clips.
Made the weight naked on the scales, with German tv sparing no close up. It;s not just a big right hand he has.

Erdie retains with 114-114. 115-113. 116-112

Garay made a good fight of it. A sharp puncher, he never stopped coming forwards, and caught the champion with some solid shots.
Erdei started the fight well and controled most of the early rounds with the more accurate punching. Garay came on in the middle rounds as Erdei tired, but the Hungarian managed to punch it out with the Argie in a hard last round. I had it 116-115 to the champion.

Overall impressions of the performance, MW? Is Edrei a good champion or is he lucky that the overated Gonzales beat a shot Dariuz.

He's a good champion alright. Very cagey and with his high guard he's hard to hit. Good chin too, as he took some whacks tonight and the other guy did look a sharp puncher.
Crafty with his attacks, big right hand looks a good shot. But he did get tired in there tonight - didn't like the challenger's high work rate.

Third best light heavyweight in the world by the looks of it. He'd give either Johnson or Calzaghe a very hard fight.

I did like him against Gonzales too - my only gripe about him is power.

So he was a worthy winner Mighty Warrior? The scoring suggests Garay won, i have become a cynical assessor of German scoring and the close card and the draw usually mean an away victory but made close to try and make the robbed opponent feel better. Am i being harsh?

Yes I thought he just nicked it Steve. The challenger looked good in there and deserves a rematch or at least a shot at one of the other champs - Johnson or Calzaghe maybe.

What's next for Erdei, he looked skilled in beating Gonzalez who was made to look slow and cumbersome, i doubt Erdei will be rushing to go and fight outside Germany so it looks like more Sauerland/Kohl style deals for willing foreigners to try and persuade the judges there way.

He should fight the winner of Johnson/Calzaghe or the loser of Jones/Tarver.

Erdei deserved to win, but Garay looked very good. Garay was as fit in the last round as he was in the first, and had really quick hands and a good punch. McCoy wont be surprised if the Argie cat comes back to defeat a top 10 Light Heavyweight in the near future. 8)

McCoy seen this cat on KOTV a few weeks back, when he stopped Craig Cummings (Cummings was the guy who floored Steve Collins in Steves last pro bout)

He looked good, but McCoy aint seen too much of him to be honest. 8)
