As it says in the title.

I never remember so many fights, at both domestic and world level, being cancelled the way there has been over the last year or 2.

And often with little or no explanation.

Why does this seem to be such a common occurance, there are some fights and bills that fans even expect to fall apart the second they are made.

are promotors making fights they know will never happen? what benefit do they get from this?

I think part of it is promoters making fights that were destined to fail, whilst another part of it is having fighters with bigger ideas.

This past week we've seen Moruti Mthalane and Teiru Kinoshita cancel bouts. For Moruti it was about a bigger payday and opportunity by fighting at home, for Kinoshita it's about vacating a national title for a world title. Neither of these are the promoters fault, though I know they aren't the fights you had in mind.

There will always be an element of fights being cancelled but it does seem odd that Frank's shows very rarely go to plan these days......

As that one been cancelled mate it was supposed to be on at elland road in march

There are more fights being made in the UK so there will be more cancellations.

Im more perplexed with the number of fights announced, then within 2 hours the fighter comes out and says "No idea what this promoter is even talking about".

I doubt there will be any trouble. Two Barnsley chavs caused the last lot. Never any bother on Bateson shows anyway.

Love what they've done in Thailand this week. Amnat and Rocky Fuentes both had bouts fall through, now they are fighting each other in a brilliant world title match up.
