Be interested to see how he returns given such a long spell out of the ring. Think he was pretty disillusioned with it all so hopefully a fresh start will do him the power of good.

Hasn't he being doing Queensbury or something like that in the interim?

Remember Maxwell vs Doran being a controversial stoppage - who was referring that one?

I read something about him doing unlicensed & that he would be back when he was ready. Welcome return in my opinion not seen him but read a lot of good things.

Maxwell got robbed in that fight if I remember right Maxwell had Doran in all sortas of trouble, but then when Doran had Maxwell hurt a little it was stopped?

Can't remember the ins and outs but remember Maxwell got robbed big style

Yes, when you are in the ring with a man like Doran and you are out of it you are one puch away from being seriously hurt.....

In all seriousness Tom and Shene Thomas are adamant that Maxwell was gone, even if he recovered fast.

Like a certain other fight I feel both fighters were robbed. The fight needed a proper conclusion...even if that was Max was on his backside. I know my gut was that the stoppage looked fast and said so at the time despite knwoing Tom and Shane

Who are the commentators? They watch it back, see Maxwell's legs go and his hands fall to his waist, take more punches, but still complain about the stoppage. One talks about a standing count, which isn't in the rules, then they try and claim Doran was gone, when in reality he was hurt, then landed big on Maxwell and finished him off, pair of fornicating giffords, how do people like that get given a microphone to talk about boxing when they clearly know nothing about it? The guy from Bristol just kept mumbling the whole fight like he had no clue what to say, then blurted out some incoherent bollocks.

He had talent. Maybe, needs the right guidance. Coldwell Boxing are a good bunch, so glad he is with them.

Hes been fighting in the BBU, and will do so again on March 21st prior to going pro with coldwell.

In fairness to Tom, he donated his last semi-pro to a kids charity. Walked away with £0 personally.

He did have talent, but he quit because he had a good job and didn't feel he could afford to give it up to dedicate 100% of his time to boxing. If anything, he's been sensible, a little too sensible from outside looking in!

Out of interest, what's the board's position on him applying for a licence after boxing on, shall we say, alternative shows.

A couple of years ago Robert Smith said people who have boxed unlicensed rather than had amateur career were welcome to apply for a licence, but ex-licence holders reapplying can basically forget it. Has this stance changed?
