I'm from Australia and I've got leave from work in May and June. I've traveled to the US a few times before and I've wanted to attend a hall of fame weekend. I was just wondering if anyone has been before? The main issue I'm having is with accommodation because Canastota seems to be a smallish town a lot of the hotels don't have websites.
So has anyone been and what's your general feedback of the weekend?

Book early this year. Look for motels in Verona or Syracuse too, only 15-20 minute ride from there.
When the weather is good it is a great time.

I have been to every one and wouldn't miss it. I'd stay in one of the hamlets around Canastota and book early if I were you. Just use google to tell you what's close around. Lots of guys stay as far away as Syracuse. You are going to need a rental car and event tickets. Tickets are obtained through the IBHOF. I recommend tickets to the cocktail party if you really want to load up on autographs. The dinner is nice but the Friday PM activity is usually a drag. GOT to go to the collectible show. Catch as many ringside lectures as you can. Those are free. BTW, you will not be the only guy there from your part of the world. If I can help, let me know.
