David Haye wants a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko:

http://www.worldboxingnews.net/news/201 ... match.html

Does he deserve a rematch and another big payday, or should he need to beat a contender first?

I heard David Haye's girlfriend split up with him. He promised her children but he kept pulling out.

Haye is making a mockery of the business/sport and taking the piss out of fans.

He has planned a route to securing his financial future and used whatever tactics it takes to get there you could call tgat smart business however when you are so blatant about it and screw so many people in the process its not on.

I would love to see him have to earn a shot properly due to his inactivity ect but its about ££££ after all so lets see

He doesn't deserve a straight shot.

I think his plan going forward is, stay fit, fight no-one, do nothing to climb the rankings or prove your worthy of a title shot and hope that the "shot just lands on your lap"

the guy is unbelievable, I don't think Wlad would be keen on the rematch with him, even if he had been active, winning and high in the rankings.
if haye thinks the shot will just appear out of thin air, he's living in a dreamworld

sadly no one else but haye wants a wlad rematch. it was one of the worst fights of all time.

david haye, until you're knocking ppl out regularly - you are boring.

It really wasn't mate.

Its just the hype had built it up to be haye swinging from hip trying to decapitate wlad.

When it fell many rungs below that we all felt cheated.

But it wasn't one of worst fights ever, that is just silly

Is it just me that doesn't read the rest of the article the way the headline made it sound?

I mean somewhere in that article (sorry can't copy and paste) it says asked if he thinks a return with Wlad is possible and he says I honestly don't.

Maybe I'm still too much of a Haye fan and not seeing it for what it is.

But all of Wladimir's fights are the worst of all time.

I too am cynical about Haye. I wanted him to wim. He hurt Wlad twice, despite a low punch output. He should have rolled the dice and gone for it, but both men were terrified of being KOd by the other and it really isn't what you want to see from supposed heavyweight champions.

I think Wlad is relieved he got through the Haye fight, while Haye is doomed to dream about what-might-have-been for the rest of his life. What-might-have-been, and what is, i.e. more reality TV shows.

If you really believe that you didn't see what I saw then. I saw a man who seemed terrified of the giant in front of him. I also seen a man who was composed, and essentially toyed around with his much smaller opponent. For all of Haye's bluster--- he got scared of Klitschko early on. There was an instance in the fight where I seen Klitschko get out of robot mode and shot off a series of lightning fast combinations, and I was surprised Haye even survived that. Klitschko, imho, could of taken him out at any time--- and maybe he should of--- but I think Vladimir had an ulterior motive, to show that this man Haye didnt want to make a fight out of it, and proved he was the better all-around boxer than Haye was.

The idea that Wlad was grateful to 'survive' is ludicrous.

Wlad boxed within himself, and dominated Haye without breaking sweat; had Haye pressed the action, the end result would have most likely been Haye's impending unconsciousness.

Whilst Wlad may be far from the most aggressive of heavyweight champions, he certainly can punch when he wants to, and I have little doubt that a solid Jab from Wlad could have put Haye on his arse, as Haye doesn't really have a sturdy chin even at 200, let alone against far naturally bigger men.

No way would I spend a penny on a rematch, Haye's had quite enough money already first time around against Wlad.

I dont think it was quite that simple. Haye in part had a low punch output because he knew that if he over commited he was very likely to get knocked out. The same goes for Wlad. It was a physical chess match with both waiting for the other to sneeze first so to speak.

On what two occasions did he hurt Wlad? Possibly with a right hand in the 12th (though all Wlad did was hold for a couple seconds; people have really exaggerated his reaction) but when else?

but not with regularity. he needs to get at the back of the queue, fight often, show some humility, blast ppl out, get rounds - not hold out like some superstar for a rematch with some guy he produced very little against.

If this was a bantamweight fight and the oppo hasn't fought for two years or more there would be mild outrage.

He certainly hurt him in the 12th. In an early round, I believe the 3rd, Haye cracks him with a right hand and has him clinging on.

Haye can hit, Wladimir cannot take a punch. Wladimir is a big hitter too, but his power is rendered useless when the opponent is nimble, fit, can move around (Haye, Ibragimov). He kept Haye at bay and escaped with his belts. Haye should have gone for it, he didn't, his business to brood over the rest of his life.

Haye needs to fight a tall, well known opponent and aggressively knock him out to stand any chance of getting anyone interested in a rematch.
Maybe fight someone like Tyson Fury? I think it would be a good match up. Unbeaten, will sell the fight, most likely outcome being a Haye win by stoppage.

What could go wrong, who's with me?

Toot, toot! All aboard the Haye vs Fury train!

No way would I pay to watch that again and neither would most of the general public I wouldn't think. Haye made a fool of himself, he promised carnage, fought to survive almost Bugner style then blamed it on his little toe. It would take a lot of knockout wins to get his credibility back with the public.

Just to think wlad will be having his sixth fight since his contest with haye who's been stagnant with one & 3 pull outs. Haye would get stopped if he was to fight wlad again
