John Inverdale

Does anyone else in here find him immensely irritating?

I don't like the way a glint appears in his eyes when he mentions the ryder cup and rugby. Could hardly see him mentioning boxing in the middle of a rugby match.

Also, he seems to ignore anything Richie Woodhall has to say and throw the microphone back in Steve Bunce's direction as fast as possible.

Grr! And to think I used to like the guy.

Can't they bring Claude in as presenter or even that other tall black man whose name I don't know.

Yes increasingly so.

He doesn't have the same cringe-inducing effect that Duke does. I hate the guy. He's without doubt the most inane co-commentator of all time. I hate the guy.

Inverdale looked - and sounded - really bored last night, and his scruffy jeans only reflected that.
He needs a slap.

is he even a boxing fan or the bbc employ him just to present the show and agree with bunce and woodhall

never liked the guy even years ago on five live he came across as smug. let him keep his rugby, infact the entire bbc presentation/commentary team needs to go, possibly with the exception of woodhall

is it just me or is john inverdale a bit like kevin keegan in the respect that they both have the kind of faces you could take immense pleasure in hitting for a long period of time?

Bunce is on BBC2 talking about Walsall football club and saying he's a Black Country man. "I live up there," he just said. "I know."
He lives in Lichfield! About as Black Country as Salisbury.

Forget Inverdale who is that tit who keeps getting payed to interview the boxers straight after the fight.

The guy never listens to a f4cking word they say and also whenever Audley wants to say his thankyous to his team he always interupts and tries to move it on. When he asked Francis' thoughts Francis started talking and the guy interupted him and was saying 'What do you think of Audley, what do you think of Audley.' For Christ sake let him finish his sentence.

They're all awful, the lead commentator knows fornicate all about boxing, the presenter knows fornicate all about boxing, the twat who does the interviews know's fornicate all about boxing. They've roped in people who cover other sports to do some overtime because they have no one who knows anything. Bunce is clueless, the only two who know (or should at least) anything are Woodhall and McKenzie, and even then Woodhall just hypes who the beeb want him to and McKenzie is just.... well, crap

I've tried to be positive about the beebs coverage of boxing but after last night must say that I thought the whole show was total crap, the 'fight' (and I use the term loosely as this was little more than a glorified sparring session ...though audley seemed afraid of getting hit by his sparring partner!) the commentary! again I use the word loosely in describing Duke and that beardy blokes performances as a commentary and the presentation.... again I use the word loosely with tha greasy Inverdale and the 'I've always supported Audely' Bunce getting more annoying by the minute.
Yes, without a doubt (sorry Richie!) I was glad when it was all over last night. If you can't do better than this beeb then you should hang up the gloves and stop treating boxing fans like total t**ts!!!.
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!.... :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :-? :-?

Gary Richardson. The most irritating 'interviewer' ever. Does anyone remember when he interviewed Anna Kournikova at Wimbledon, Richardson said 'How do you feel after this loss' and Anna went crazy, refusing to do the interview, asking to start again, and it was all live.

I actually think Inverdale is proably the best of the BBC boxing punch, but I don't know why he reminded me of Simon Cowell last night with his black top which showed off his "man boobs".

I'm going to come to Duke's defence here. I know quite a few on here don't like him. I think he's pretty good. Some of his comments are a bit inane at times but most colour commentators drop the odd bollock.

Then again, I liked Ron Atkinson...

I stopped listening to the commentary on BBC ages ago.

I would rather watch 4 Sven ottke fights in a row with german commentary than have to listen to Jim Neily.

I hate the guy.
It's his turn of phrase that bugs me, especially the way he's always mixing up the cliched adages that he comes out with. He commentates the way my senile gran would.
Strange thing is i loved him as a fighter.

The whole BBC team is inept, Woodhall has become a yes man, Bunce is amusing but hyperactive at times (and it's not just Boxing, i saw him salivating over Football today) but probably the best of the bunch, McKenzie i have tried to defend but he is clearly insane and the Beeb should consign him to the bin that he kept telling us Audley had put his win last night  Jim Neilly talks utter bollocks (Skelton of the Matt variety  ), Inverdale is a smug contentious prick with no interest in Boxing whatsoever and as for Alan Partridge well....he sums up the bunch. A sorry state

Like I said, I wonder if Audley put in some clause in his contract extension meaning they cannot say a part word about him.

Also, I think like Sean Connery, Steve Bunce is becoming almost like a characture of himself. A bit of OTT is good, but I thought Last night he was a bit OTT on the OTT.

Jim Nielly = Worst of the BBC, no one else comes close. Woodhall has turned into a bit of a yes man as someone mentioned.

I thought Ricky was pretty good in the studio. Confident and knew what he was talking about. Nice and honest in his assesment of Cotto as well when someone else might have started bragging about themselves.
