Stuart Hall v Martin Ward in Newcastle on March 29 for IBF bantamweight title.

Haskins has beaten both of these guys in the last 19 months and he's beaten McDonnell as well.

When is his world title shot?

If there is a weaker world title match up in 2014 than this I will be amazed.

That top 15 includes Martin Ward, there won't be any problems with the IBF.

Thats another one that was bothering me,if Butler has had all of his title fights at Super Flyweight,Why would he be in the top 15 IBF Bantamweight rankings

It's a good match up with lots of local interest. If the IBF don't like it, they won't sanction it.

It is deliberate, targeted, opportunistic ranking of an opponent for the sake of making upcoming domestic match-ups. I don't know if Ward was in the IBF top 15 prior to Hall's world title victory but I would put money on him not being in the previous rankings.

Look at Crolla in at no.6 in the WBO's featherweight rankings. Ricky Burns is the champ. Crolla is nowhere in any other set of world rankings.

Buglioni is already appearing in the WBO's top 15, the technicality justification being he's now got their inter-wotsit title but is Buglioni really the 12th best 168 pounder in the world ??

The WBO is quite obliging at light middleweight too, Brian Rose is #1 and Liam Smith and Joe Selkirk are in there too. They're not in any other set of world rankings.

Good luck to Hall and Ward, but as Horse points out Haskins has beat the pair of them !

At the Leeds show in Dec, Hobson said nice things about McDonnell getting a crack at the belt in 2014 but I thought to myself "not fxxking likely" after their split.

The rightful champion holds the belt, can't skip mandatory defences.

It's a good fight for the long starved North East and there are so many shite world title fights and undeserving challengers that I cannae even be arsed getting worked up by a poor quality voluntary anymore. The IBF need to be held to account over how on earth Ward's made the top 15 in the world in their eyes but as a previous poster alluded to that's the way of the governing bodies work, none are really better than the other.

It's a decent fight, both should earn a few quid and it should sell well. That's more important that the tat the are fighting for. Let's just enjoy it for what it is and agree, again, that the IBF and the rest are all undeserving to look after the true world elite.........

Jamie McDonnell vs Randy Caballero in an eliminator in Manchester in April, as a match up that has definitely got more world class pedigree. No disrespect to Hall and Ward. Just shows how this is a business first, second and third. The sport part lags behind badly sometimes.

bur is now commonwealth champion.all im sayin is if i was Haskins id be gutted but just because youve beaten some one it doesnt give you the right to fight them for a world title unless a voluntary and if haskins had beat you easy would you select him fot your voluntary.doubt it.gaskins will have to go the eliminater /final eliminator route .i like haskins as a fighter. very good

Lee Haskins is ranked 13 by IBF (who don't have anyone ranked 1 and 2). He is also ranked 5 by WBC.

Ward is a really nice Boxer and has lots of Skill but I don't Think his the strength or Power to keep Hall off.
