With the pro game in general paying less than unlicensed for selling 100 tickets, I know 2 pros boxing tonight as 3rd year pros just to pay their medical fees,, and the promoter is doing them a favour by putting them on the bill,,, do me a favour,, better off selling 100 tickets on the unlucenced

Something needs to be done but unlicenced isnt as good. Like for like.

My mate does thai kickboxing and he has to pay the promoter for the honour of fighting. I think its shit and told him not to but there isnt really another way

whats the deal if the board get hold of this ?
Would they be suspended ?

I would say all boxers are better off going unlicensed if what you say is correct

Why would they be suspended??? Fighters have to pay their own scans etc, shows like tonight, when you've bust your bollocks training to fight for feck all apart from your med fees, what's the point having a manager/ promoter like that???

It was a question mate not an opinion I think I remember someone saying on here before about the board taking action against someone ? maybe Im wrong

I've been pro for 4 years. The game has cost me a total of around £40,000 with medicals, time lost at work to train, equipment, travel, digs when training etc etc. This includes all I have earned through boxing also. It's a mugs game but we love it.

I just wish there was something set up for fighter's like myself to be able to fight for a living rather than just to sell tickets and earn money for someone else

It could with petrol, gym fees, supplements and diet, medicals and equipment. He must have been training and eating well though. I know amateurs who pay personal trainers £25 once a week for S&C, that's over 1k a year. It adds up.

Plus the fact of putting the chance if building a normal career for when you retire, nearly impossible as most careers you have to be there 9-5, so you either work part time for peanuts, go on low paid, early morning work ie the post or the bins, even the old favourite the milkman has gone,,

would you of stayed amateur if you had know that back then .

Because the boards rules clearly state they aren't allowed to take part in other combat sports or box on a show not sanctioned by the BBBofC without permission. If they are caught they will be rightly banned.
