Titles like these make me weep for the sport.

In fact ALL the sanctioning bodies make me sick...

I see Chris Jenkins fight tomorrow is now for the WBC International Light Welter title - I can't keep up with what these things even mean so I just give up.

WBU European (German Version) Title. 5 fights for it on the same night.

What a load of complete & utter bollocks!

And one of them is in his mid-40s with one fight under his belt in the past 14 years.

It wont be long before there is a WBC British title, and WBC German title for the boxers in each country to fight for. Then a WBC Southern area title, Northern title etc etc. Then why not WBC amateur title which the winner automatically gets a shot at the area title upon turning pro. Also why not start a WBC pre pro title where guys who are thinking of turning pro at least get a title for showing interest.

Then the WBC can get into darts, and Tyson Fury for example could face Phil The Power Taylor in a double header, 3 sets of darts and 10 rounds of boxing.

What about the WBC Don King title where he actually picks the 2 boxers to fight and arranges the fights after that. Seems a good idea.

Quality post Mimmy.

I reckon that if I start getting myself into shape there should be enough of these titles for me to win one by the time I am 50!

Title belts are like condoms. There used to be just one, then there was a few and now there's all sorts of shapes and sizes.

I think you will find that this Title has nothing to do with the WBU (German Version) and is the newly set up WBU Europe by Gianluca Di Caro.

Mark Prince is fighting for their title on the 1st March.

El Miserable was once the WBU International Middleweight champion, which adds some credence surely?
