He got to be a top 10 in the list of all time welterweights
To me, he is second behind the great Mike McCallum at the rankings of the jr. middleweights.
At middleweight??? Not good enough. He probably be in the top 30 or 40
Not enough fights at super middleweight.
Pound per pound??? In the 20th century, I had him in the top 50. Now? Around position #52
Why??? He lost the 2 biggest fights of his career against Sugar Ray and Marvelous.

I think he's probably the #1 at 154lb and somewhere around #10 at welterweight. Much lower down in the higher weight divisions.

I'd have his all-time P4P ranking somewhere around #25. He wasn't without his flaws, but his combination of assets and performances across six weight divisions puts him above any current boxer - he certainly rates higher than Mayweather.
