Andrew Selby and Fred Evans

Selby said last night he'll turn pro when the money is right and Evans said in August he would soon. Anyone know why they are sticking to amateur seems strange to me.
They earn decent money, have world class resources (facilities, support staff etc), and can try and become an Olympic champion.WelshJack wrote:Selby said last night he'll turn pro when the money is right and Evans said in August he would soon. He won't. He is neither good enough, big enough or a big personality. I don't see any of of the 2012 boys becoming superstars. Including AJ.JimJim2009 wrote:Andrew Selby will be a genuine superstar in the pro ranks. Absolutely nailed on. If it was possible to buy shares in a prospect I'd buy some now !
hes been world number 1 in the amature ranking, ive seen him live and he his a talent and with the rise of his brother lee he people will take notice of Andrew and he will go on to be atleast euro champmickey1975 wrote:He won't. I'm not doubting that, it was the genuine superstar bit I disagree with.citybluechris wrote:hes been world number 1 in the amature ranking, ive seen him live and he his a talent and with the rise of his brother lee he people will take notice of Andrew and he will go on to be atleast euro champmickey1975 wrote:He won't. Think AJ could be, his coming into the pro ranks as the klitschos are coming to an end ! If his not rushed he could be a superstar around about 2016/17 IMO, he has it allmickey1975 wrote:He won't. Wlad will be around for awhile longer. Anyway, surely Joshua will just be fighting weak opposition if he beats the current crop of heavyweights? Or does that only apply when the Klitschko's are doing it....jessi wrote:Think AJ could be, his coming into the pro ranks as the klitschos are coming to an end ! I think AJ can definitely be a star. It's not nailed on but he's a gold medalist which always help, seems to have the right attitude and tools, and lets face it, it's a poor division that could be dominated by someone like AJ with his speed and power. If he sorts his movement out and keeps improving I think he could well be a star. He's the kind of personality that sponsors will fight for, you can imagine him fronting Adidas TV ads, posters for example and that kind of thing works wonders for profiles.mickey1975 wrote:He won't. He is fantastic. His style is suited to the pro ranks, I might have got a bit giddy saying success is "absolutely nailed on" but he is very, very good I would pick him to go all the way and become a major British attraction.danamba7 wrote:I think AJ can definitely be a star. selby will be the Calzaghe/Froch of his generation.
Elite talent. World silver medalist, European gold x 2, olympic quarter finals, undefeated in WSB, world number 1.
He's a special talent, who will defo be a star in the pros. I don't understand how you can hate a top british talent like that, is it jealousy or what?
