“Aussie Joe” Bugner, who has lived on the Gold Coast for the past 20 years, has shocked boxing circles by announcing he's coming out of retirement.

Through a media adviser, the Bulletin was last night refused interview requests with Bugner despite a media release being issued stating that he will fight again

The Hungarian-born boxer wants to release details of his comeback at a lavish press conference on Saturday at Q1 in Surfers Paradise

It is believed a cashed-up local business is bankrolling his return.

no doubt this is related to his book 'Joe Bugner - My Story', being released a couple of months ago. I guess sales weren't doing well so they decided they needed some publicity..

The last time I saw Joe in any action, was when he was firing from some barzooka contraption, cooked chickens into the crowd at a football match as pre-match entertainment. Maybe Joe has cornered the cooked chicken's market, and is bringing his bazooka out of mothballs?
