Who are your top 3?

I love a good solid jab deployed with speed and bad intentions rather than just being a measuring stick or a paw to wave at your opponent to distract them.

In no particular order I think that Ricky Burns, Andy Lee, Enzo Macranelli & Tyson Fury all have excellent underrated jabs.

Point me in the direction of the best please!

Brian rose has a good jab

Groves has an excellent jab.

Darren Hamilton has a sickener of a jab

Groves for me.

Its a punch that is used less & less these days but Brian Rose has a class jab.

Whilst reading the original post Brian Rose was the first fighter who came to mind.

Rose and Burns have quite a similar upright style. The shot I think Burns impresses me most with is his left to the body.

George Groves and Ricky Burns

Groves.

Kell Brook has a good jab, Darren Barkers had spite.

As mentioned groves has a cracking jab and when brook is on his game he has a very hard hitting jab which can do real damage. Possibly close to retirement but dean Francis has still a brilliant jab, frankie Gavin also has a good controlling jab.

Best jab I've seen in uk in last 20 years has to be winky wright what a punishing jab he had that sickened many a British light middle

Wlad deserves a mention.

Wlad would be my choice if he were British.

Froch also has a good jab, but he doesn't use it consistently enough.

I think it's good & could be potentially great.he has it too low like haye & loses power on it IMO snapping it up from to low down & he never doubles it.

Ok, excellent at times. Sometimes he does just paw with it but other times he uses it brilliantly, especially when he mixes it up to head and body.

That's what I like about Fury's jab, he often doubles and sometimes TRIPLES it, followed by a left hook. It's a real weapon when you use it like that.

The worst jabs I can think of are Audley's 'paw' and David Price's 'wave'

The guys I mentioned in my op- are all very tall and long for their division. I guess that helps.

Sorry I missed the British part. Blind as a bat at times.

John McDermott - Massively underrated Jab, he has very good accuracy for a big guy and throws the punch in a text book way.

George Groves - speed and power

Crolla has a decent jab

Ricky has one of the best jabs in the world let alone UK

Seeing him on ringside last night was actually the inspiration for this thread

I think his jab is superb.

What do you think to the other guys I mentioned: Tyson Fury, Andy Lee & Enzo Macranelli? To me their jabs all look excellent too ...

Yes, awesome, best evidenced vs Ray Leonard. When he thought he could KO a fighter he used the jab as a range finder for the right hand but when he had to box his jab was superb.

Best jab in UK I've seen is Michael Watson. Best just now is Ricky Burns when he is on form. Gavin's jab vs Vassell was very good although I've seen him paw with it a lot previously.
