Danny Williams can't come in any heavier, can he?

Yes. Danny Williams came in at a new career high for his fight with Augustine N'Gou tomorrow night. The former British and Commonwealth champion topped the scales at a whopping 18st 12 1/2lbs.
Man-mountain N'Gou scaled 18st 3lbs.

Heh good old Danny, he'll break that 19st mark yet.

Didn't he weigh 18st 10lbs back in 1997 for the fight in New York? He was only what 24 at the time, must have been those fried cheese waffles or whatever crap it is that Americans eat.

Sounds right Kilburn. He was 18st 11lbs (and 14 ounces) for the rubber match with Sprott. Considering that he was 18st 5lbs for the first Sprott fight and 18st 3 1/2lbs for their rematch, he's too heavy nowadays. Like Georgi Kandelaki and Mike Tyson, his heart ain't in it any more.

What the F is Danny on? He looked in great shape for his last bout and although I have no figures he looked under the 18 stone mark, can't he see his best performances where when he was lighter.

Is Jim Mac with him still? I can't imagine Jim allowing this.

This N'Gou stands a chance, I don't think Danny has seen the gym since his last fight.

Unfortunatly Danny Williams never ceases to diappoint me. I've resigned myself to the fact that he is at best never going to get past European level.

Wether the reasons are mental or physical is irrelevant if he can't overcome them to realise his full potential. It's a shame because the guy has talent and seems a nice guy, even with the Heavyweight division wide open I have a horrible feeling that Danny will always fall short at world level.

I think they better have a reinforced canvas when these two get in the ring :o A double knockdown could cause ringside fatalities.

This is a WBU WORLD title eliminator.....apparently.

Christ. It nearly killed Danny to do the 12 rounds with Sprott in January. At his weight, I hope he chins N'Gou early.

What is it with title fights and Danny Williams being fat and crap recently. Once he's KOd this guy he will need a crane to lift him into the ring for the Kandelaki fight.
