Does anyone know if Craig McEwan will be on the bill? Heard stories about John Ryder but I doubt that will happen now!
I spoke with his dad a couple of weeks ago and he was under the impression he was definitely on the bill but there has been no announcements.

Imo if Craig was to get a few fights in a short space of time he could challenge the best Middleweights in the UK, but if he wastes any more time I fear a career with nothing to show for his talent!!

If he is it won't b against ryder as ryder has a final eliminator 5th april. (Top of the pf bill)

the ryder fight was never a goer from waht i understand mate, i cant see him being on it after speakijng to him the other day

althogh he seems to be enjoying his boxing again under the watchful eye of the the talented eye of Paul Weir

Craig is a top bloke but boxing just hasn't worked out for him. Best of luck to him with the rest of his life.

Yes, he relocated to LA with his wife when he was starting out as a professional.

It got him good exposure but at the end of the day it will be a sin that such a talented fighter could end up not even fighting for a British or Commonwealth title!

Ashley Theopane went in a similar direction but came back over here to pick up the British title.

Theopane only needed another win to get the Lonsdale out right , yet doesn't seem bothered about it, shame that

Groves and DeGale are better than anyone on Theophanes record.

you are wrong ! He lost a split decision to current world champion Danny Garcia ( many thought he won it ), pound for pound he is much better then Degale or Groves, he beat De Marcus Corley who knocked out the euro champion recently, though past his best,he beat Delvin Rodriguez, who fought Cotto at light middle in his last fight and as beaten some good fighters and he ko'ed former euro champion Cook and beat Daws who was robbed of a Euro title, don't seem like he is only british level to me, I will say however that he did not seem up for the british title fights, now signed up with Mayweather promotions.

I forgot about Garcia. He is still not better than domestic level. A poorly Darren Hamilton beat him easily. Theophane is a domestic top ten fighter, regardless of who promotes him.

Ben Murphy was beating him on 5 days notice until he ran out of steam late on. He hasn't gone back for the British title because Frankie Gavin's got it and he has no interest in fighting him, when he was British champion he said he'd give him a shot if he won the European title, so the same demand has been made in return.

Sometimes you have to admit you are wrong and move on, Darren Hamilton is a dark horse, who knows how far he can go, no one expected him to beat the inform Adil Anwar, but he beat him easily, he could end being anything, Pat Cowdell was an awkward looking fighter as well, but very hard to beat, until he met the great Azumah Nelson.

Mickey, It does not matter ! beating the fighters he has beat, losing a split decision to a top class world champion, is not british level, in anyone's book, yes he has had some bad performances at lower level, more down to taking them for granted, but many fighters have.

McEwan can still beat some men and earn decent money but he'll not get to the top of the British pile; a shame as he seems sound.

I don't mind Theopane, I know he rubs a few up the wrong way but he does what's best for himself - like Mackiln does. He put up a real fight v Cano and showed a lot of guts. Hamilton was a lurker and a real dark horse, he seems to be getting better and better - there's no shame for Theopane with any of the men he's lost to.

I agree generally with what you are saying, but my opinion of Theophane is that I don't rate him. I don't buy all the not getting up for fights stuff either. Even if it's true, that's his problem and very unprofessional. It's not as if he's a big name former world champion coming back down in levels.
