Adrian Taihia

Just after general discussion/thoughts on Adrian Taihia.

He fights against March 22nd against Richard Hackney defending his NZPBA New Zealand Super-Middleweight Title.

I think this will be a big year for Taihia, after a DRAW and then a UD win over Gunnar Jackson (and we saw how Jackson performed against Choc on 7 days notice) Taihia has been relatively quiet. He wants a fight against Berridge at Light-Heavy and to be honest I think he looks better at Light-Heavy and certainly hits harder. If Berridge gets through Foley then Berridge/Taihia would be a great local dust up here in NZ!!

So Taihia/Berridge is confirmed for 22nd may at the Logan Campbell centre ASB showgrounds in Auckland, this is great for NZ boxing, reasonably priced and a full pro undercard with some good names, long may it continue

Yes it's officially off. Shame, I doubt these two will fight each other in the future.

Good Scrap between Letoa and Taihia. Given the short notice change of opponent for both guys they put on a good showing. Tough ask for both Letoa having to adjust to 12 rounds and Taihia having to re think a totally different style of opponent. Letoa is a tough, awkward southpaw who has pushed many of the top guys in this region!

Don't quite understand Sky Arena's panic by offering full refund when Berridge withdraw due to injury?? Maybe.... reduction (credit) on subscription would've been by far more appropriate?
In the end the card turned A OK. I guess, it & everyone else underestimated Letoa vs Taihia outcome.
Any reduction (credit) could've been applied to upcoming Super 8 tournament

I was disappointed at the Gunnar Jackson fight and the main event if I'm being honest. Both there opponents were below where they should be fighting now. The rest of the bill kept me entertained though. I love watching King Afa , he'll be a sad loss on small hall boxing in nz.
