First "World title" defence against a guy ranked outside the top 80 now this guy ranked outside the top 40.
How is this a world title fight? Just getting embarrassing now.

Quigg is not a real world champion just a belt holder. Quigg is just getting some routine fights in so he can pay off his house etc. Matchroom will probably try again in the summer for a fight with Frampton or Martinez.

His team deserve some stick for the poor voluntary defence, but this is a mandatory defence as far as I am aware, so the WBA are more to blame. It's easy to say 'he should drop the belt it isn't real' but the words 'World title fight' will bring in a lot of casual fans who wouldn't otherwise want to know.

Yeah just seen Nehomar Cermeno is the "interim WBA World super bantamweight champion. so the WBA has three World super bantamweight champions. this belt means nothing now.

Yeah just seen Oscar Escandon is the "interim WBA World super bantamweight champion. so the WBA has three World super bantamweight champions. this belt means nothing now.
Woah that is truly embarrassing Interim titles are ok in some circumstances but never by the WBA also noticed the poster has Crolla in it thought he was doubtful for the date ??????

Has to be him V Murray for this to get sales so it is worth staging at the arena and that will be to get it half full

Cermeno is a well known boxer in the bantamweight/super bantam division. Past his best but has some very good wins on his record and has been on the wrong side of one or two controversial decisions. He also has a draw on his record against Quiggs last opponent, Yoandris Salinas.

Don't get me wrong, I think Quigg beats him eventually but Cermeno is crafty enough and I don't expect Quigg to have it all his own way.

I have no issues with this bout. Cermeno isn't bad, he's tricky and frustrating as hell. Also upset Oscar Escandon last time out when many hardcore fans would have picked Escandon.

I'd love to see Quigg in with Wake personally but that wouldn't be a fun one for Quigg.

He had 2 very close fights with Moreno and should have won the first apparently.

Not the worst choice if opponent.

Can't really knock Quigg or Matchroom for this (dont get me wrong I would if I could) its a poor fight but its his mandatory in the same way people can't knock Frampton for his opponenet thats not the best either but its final eliminator both need to get these fights done and dusted.

Never seen him fight, looking at his record there are a lot of split decisions amongst his losses.

Cermeno was a tidy wee boxer who could operate at the top level but he's old and a bit small for the weight now. It's not a bad fight but his effort against Bakhtin was poor a year or so ago and he's 3-3-1 since stepping up to 122lbs. It's okay but nowt more
