Love these old fight posters

I talked to a guy who said he ran into Scott Frank some 20 years ago in Oakland, CA. This is all here say of course, but he asked Frank about Larry Holmes, and Scott Replied " he hit like a pussy."

Why not? I say it quite a bit when it applies.

Duce, I don't know where you stand on Frank, but I remember being completely underwhelmed by him both against Snipes and against Holmes. Blocky, slow, mediocre power, maybe a cut above a clubfighter himself. I would've given my old hero, Roughhouse Fischer a shot to outbrawl him. Your take?

I've glanced at John Lewis Gardner's record a few times. I've never seen him fight, but his numbers on paper look pretty good especially for a common wealth fighter. Seems to have been a pretty hard hitter too, though paper stats can be deceiving.

Scott Frank was better than he got credit for.

Remember, he only had '6' easy and one-sided Bouts in 29-Months, prior to fighting Renaldo Snipes.

'3' 2nd Round KO's
'1' 3rd-Round KO's

Scott never really got a chance to develop or improve his skills. Because he was 'white', he was protected.

I'd say Scott was a 'notch' above Tom 'Rough-House' Fischer, Marty Capasso or Franco Thomas, and probably
equal to maybe John L. Gardner and Ossie Ocasio.

Late-1981 > would have been a good time for Scott Frank vs. Tom Fischer 10-Rounder.

Il Duce I would please like to know how good was Scott Frank? Style, skills, left jab, left hook, right hand, power punch, speed, body attack, strength, stamina, durability, footwork, ring general, defense and chin.

Don't know, but Jimmy Young would've exposed Scott quicker than Larry did.

I knew Scott Frank very well. Lou Duva ran several Amateur Shows during the late 1970's. He would have Ireland vs. USA. Italy vs. USA and so on. Actually the fighters that were suppose to be from the other countries were not. After running several shows he made the announcement that Scott Frank & Nino Gonzalez would be making their pro debut on May 2, 1978. They got a pretty good crowd as both had a lot of fans already.

I remember the Stander fight, which was stopped after the 1st round. Stander stated he couldn't see and was holding something over his injured eye. I hang around for a while talking to several fighters. On my way out I noticed that right in front of me was Ron Stander, But he didn't see me. He was walking with several other people when he said, can I take this thing out of my eye now. Just then he turned and saw me behind him. He then turned back and continued walking.
