Jealousy from Carl Froch..?

It was interesting to see Carl Froch ringside in Reading on the BBC last night commenting on the David Haye fight. Perhaps it was just me, but wasn’t it apparent that there was almost a hint of jealousy in people's admiration for David Haye’s performance from Carl Froch?
Froch is the one being (overly) hyped up by the BCC as the next big thing, at least in terms of all the idiotic adverts & comic strips they have, but David Haye is (in my view) the more promising prospect.
Many people, myself included, feel Haye is the one progressing the better for taking a fight against a relatively dangerous opponent like King Arthur. Froch saw it differently though, claiming King Arthur never came to fight…and claimed to not be overly impressed with Haye's performance as a result of that.
Post fight, Froch seemed quick to play down Haye’s performance, and I’m just wondering if there is going to be more than a little niggle between Haye & Froch as both clamour to become the golden boy of British boxing.
Any views?

It will never matter too much simply because of the division differences. Would be different if they were at the same weight.
Carl needs the hype, where as David seems happy to keep on rolling in his own style.

Yeah, I hope the BBC start getting behind Haye like they do with Froch. These promo's are rediculous - the best prospect in world boxing. Thats just funny.
Ummm Miguel Cotto, Bojado, Taylor, Lacy, Tysypko. Froch isn't even close.
David Haye on another matter...... Although I do worry about that chin.

Imagine if Froch had just pulled out the same performance against Vinny Paz.
Do you think he'd have claimed 'It was too easy for me. He didn't come to fight'.
Plus, if Haye had been vox popped, I'm sure he'd be encouraging.
Haye is a class act.
Froch is all act.

Froch seemed to be trying to nulify the excitment the viewer at home might have been feeling about Haye's flawless win. He didn't do himself any favours at all using that tone.
Oh and that cartoon is just nauseatingly GAY. It talks about Froch's lightening reflexes even though Adamu was clipping him on the chin all night with right hands.

Agree on all accounts, I was shocked they are still showing those clips after his last performance.

The BBC are jokers. First not letting Julius talk about anything but how good Audley is and then bleating on and showing clips and cartoons about how great Froch is. It's excruciatingly cringe worthy viewing.

I didn't mind Froch being negative about Haye's performance last night. Yes he should have been a little more tactful, and given a bit more support to Haye. But they wanted his opinion and he gave it. I'm not exactly his biggest fan, but at least he was willing to say what he was thinking.
As for his comments themselves, IMO, he's wrong. Williams did come to fight, but from the first minute onwards he was forced to concentrate on trying to stay upright. And as for Froch's suggestion that this was only a good win on paper, well, how long will it be before he steps in the ring with a decent former world champion.
I also think that the hype Froch gets suits his character. He comes across as someone who clearly sees himself as something special. Eventually he'll find out that isn't the case. Maybe sooner rather than later.

What I don't like is when fighters (such as Nicky Cook last night) claiming that a fighter quit without knowing the facts. Think it privately okay, but to blurt it out loud when you haven't talked to the doctor is degrading to the opponent.
I did notice alot of Pickering punches where hitting the elbow that the Spaniard complained about in the end, the doctor also looked a little concerned.

I think that David Haye thinks he is 'someone special', mind you I do too - but I dont think Haye comes across as overly arrogant with it. But then the BBC don't show comic book montages of how great Haye is, not yet anyway!

One thing that made me laugh about it all last night - they played that horrible cartoon about Carl Froch the super hero blah blah blah and then when we go back to ringside we see Froch standing there looking like some scruffy little student! I'm sure if any newcomers to boxing tuned in last night they'd be like WTF?

Ha ha, yeah! That cartoon certainly made Carl look like one mean mother! Not the surly character that was slumped by the side of the ring in Reading!

Those cartoons are a pile of shit.
Whoever came up with the idea should be booted out of Boxing.

I thought David Haye was very, very good last night, definitely the best prospect in Britain for quite a few years.
How he got rid of King Arthur just showed his class, this is where real class shows, by getting rid of an inferior opponent quickly….look at Audley and Hatton’s last fights.
Some have compared how Haye holds the left hand low like Froch, but Haye can do it and Froch only thinks he can do it.
Lets hope the BBC get behind Haye, he is a superstar in the making, he could be our next Benn.
I also thought Froch sounded jealous of Haye, but after nine fights and only 23yrs old, to fight and get rid of a fighter like King Arthur is quite an achievement, better than Froch has done or dared to do yet.
When Haye talked of fighting the best I believed him, he is the genuine article.
Froch claiming to be the best in Europe, what a laugh, I would love to see Robin Reid get his hands on him…notice he did not mention his name.

Carl Froch's jealousy reeked. He showed his true colours in my opinion, whereas David Haye is a genuinely nice guy.
Everyone but Froch knew Haye's result was commendable.

Haye is a far better prospect than Froch who has failed to impress me so far and I really cant see why some people are going mad over him.
There are very few fighters I would like to see get KTFO but Froch is a fighter I would love to see stretched out.
He is believing the hype about himself when he just isnt that good.

I really rate Froch and think some of you might want to take the BBC's hyping of Carl, such as the cartoon, as a bit of fun.
But i was taken back by Froch's dismissive attitude towards Williams. I would have hoped that with Carl's experience of the game he would have realised that Haye punched all of Arthur's ambition towards winning the fight out of him. Less than charitable really.
It was a good showing from Haye and deserves all the credit for it.

It goes on too long to be a bit of fun. It's a scandalous waste of air time.

Someone told me Froch got a degree at Loughborough University. Well, he wasn't very smart last night. He probably got a HND (Have No Degree) at Loughborough College of FE.
