I think Eddie Hearn might be ruling himself out. On Twitter someone Tweeted him, "Barker retires, Murray resigns from Hatton should i put 2&2 together?" Eddie replied, "Only if you want to make 5!"

The truth is that Murray just gets injured every time a big fight comes around...obviously!

I don't know the truth but I'm guessing Martin lost confidence in Richard Poxon quite a while back and has been waiting out the rest of his contract. If that's the case, he's right to move elsewhere, if you don't trust your promoter's Director of Boxing, you should go elsewhere, in my opinion.

I think it was poxon that Richard Schaefer of goldenboy came out and said was useless when trying to get murray a fight with peter quillin!

Boxing in people's back yards aren't hard to make fights!!! Murray is proven & credible & ain't going to be anyone's yardstick. Hatton promotions stink!!

Murrays is a nobody on the world scene. He has to travel to fight for a world title, could anyone actually see a sturm, GGG, Martinez or Quillen coming to Manchester to fight him?? Why would they?

That happens with most of matchroom's fighters when they fight for world titles aswell.

Garth Wood pulled out of the fight in Australia, then Murray himself pulled out of the fight in Monaco after the WBA didn't upgrade Golovkin to super champion, meaning his fight with Fletcher would only be for the interim title. He was going to Australia to fight Wood for the interim title because the money on offer was too good to turn down, think it was at least 6 figures he was offered to go down there.

The fact he's had two world title fights, won an interim title, had two offers to defend it and two other world title fights lined up, all in the last 2 and a bit years, after previously never fighting higher than British title level, is incredible, Hatton Promotions should be taking a lot of credit for the opportunities he's had.

I thought he lost to Sturm, but he certainly didn't get a boxing lesson from Martinez. He had a strong case for winning that fight, though I thought Martinez just edged it. It's not so much that he's won at a high level, but that he's shown he belongs on that level.
