I made the big mistake of going to the York hall Yesterday because my mate was boxing and then he didn't box because he was ill. But I heard the Matchroom show won hands down. Did anyone try and watch both shows on TV?

Last night the Matchroom show was miles better than the allegedly card, the mcDonnell vs Wood, Woodhouse winning the British title and Coyles fights were absolute crackers!!
The thing is next time it could be the allegedly show that has the good fights with Matchroom having some poor fights.

Same here, I watched both - Matchroom show live then FW show straight after - the Matchroom show was miles better, no contest.
But on paper neither card looked particularly great, there was no predicting the Matchroom show would be as good as it turned out.

Overall, the Matchroom card was one of the best nights of boxing that SSports has broadcast in a long time.
McDonnell winning in a fight that looked like he was going to get stopped, Curtis working non-stop and giving everything for that British title and then Coyle's up-down-up-down-up-down scrap. Great night!
I watched the BN show this morning, seemed to spend more time talking than anything else. Conquest did a decent job on Amman but it was fairly one-sided.
Let's make no mistake though, both promotions have terrible over-matched fights on them, I'm sure they thought Coyle would have it a lot more his own way - when he went down from the 2nd body shot, if it had been the other way round, it would've been stopped, also the final stoppage in rd12 was a bit suspect.

People need to realise the allegedly bill was more of a smaller bill like box academy they used to do with prospects it's obvious isn't it? You can't compare.

So which world level fighters did matchroom have on their show? I saw prospects, Coyle, McDonnell and Campbell on the Sky one...

McDonnell was World champ! Never lost it in the ring, either.

Why does one show need to compete with the other ? One's in Hull and the other one is in London. Both sold out. Boxers at the domestic level making a few quid for their families. I dont quite understand the point of this ?

to be fair they both looked not the best on paper and were both decent watches, Sky one was better this weekend definitely but like pointed out another week the allegedly one will be better.
Lets just be greatful we have so much boxing on tv and choice. I've just done this weeks TV post again look at all the choice, at least 15 hours of live boxing spread across 4 channels
