Can someone explain to me how the Boxrec ratings are contrived,just been looking at the British Super Feather Weight rating and there is a boxer ( Romeo Romero) rated at 15 after only 2 bouts against very mediocre opposition yet there are active boxers with more wins below him,I know Romeo is a flamboyant guy that the fans will either love or hate and may get bums on seats but surely a boxer should only be rated on ring record not on how he looks

I've noticed this myself a few times and at different weights. I use them as a rough guide and to check on peoples records.

His opponents were better than most who start out!! I think Romeo had a close fight with Rogowski who is a decent enough boxer.. These guys might not look good on paper but both lads Romeo has faced are hard opponents for first 2 fights

I have been trying to find the English/British boxing rankings, but no luck. Just lots of opinion rankings.

Any ideas?

Their r no offical ranking system in place for the british boxing board mate

None at all, leaves the door open to manipulation in the industry.

Their hav been a few threads on here about it b4 I think. Yeah it does and certain big promoters seem to benefit from it for their fighters. Shocking really

Anyone that still thinks that BBBOC run boxing in Britain must also believe in the tooth fairy the big promoters run every aspect of boxing from who gets the fights and in some cases whether they get paid for boxing,if they had any power all boxers would have their pay backed up by the board,as it is boxers pay the board for their licence yet when things go tits up the board remain silent,any promoter wishing to work under the board must lodge a £ 20,000 bond with board but this is way bellow what's needed to pay for even a small hall show today

It is amazing really, you would have though that it would be to the benefit of everyone, promoter, board, fans and boxers themselves to have a ranking system - which in theory would create more 50/50 fights, that said suppose it depends on who is controlling or influencing the rankings

Is it not a 10,000 bond?

I have been told it's £20,000 now but if it is only £10,000 it's even more farcical
